  • Game 28 - at Southern Illinois

    Go Panthers!

I'm excited for this game. Should be a defensive battle. If we can deny Dumask and Bowen can get himself points, should be a very winnable game.

Tytan's defensive performance against Domask last time was masterful. If he brings anywhere close to that tomorrow then we will be in a great spot to pull it out.

Tough hard nosed one here. You are what you think. Think like a champion!

It would appear we hold the tie breaker with Murray State, but not Missouri State. Anyone know, otherwise?

Correct. Missouri State swept Drake (somehow) so they've got the tiebreaker over us.

Remember, change in tiebreakers took the NET out of the equation. We now use the Big 12 system where record against top teams is the tiebreaker after H2H.

Basically, Missouri State finishing the win tonight takes the 6 seed out of the equation. I'd still prefer the 7 because of both game time and probably getting Drake on Friday instead of Bradley.

Bears 84 Racers 69. We're getting either the Red Birds or the Becons on Thursday, 3/2.

We look good against either on 3/2, but the Becons appear like a better matchup than the Red Birds. So, I'd want Valpo. The Red Birds on the defensive side look better than Valpo.

We have never done well in the 3-6 match-up late on Friday. Would much rather be in the 7-2, especially if the 6-11 game Thursday is the late, late one. Of course, the 8-9 and 8-1 games with longer rest going into Saturday if we advance would be nice as well.

Wait. Somebody check me on this.

We win out. Missouri State loses at Indiana State. Murray beats Valpo.

                  We're all 11-9.

We're 2-1 in the round robin. Missouri State is 2-2. Murray is 1-2.

                  Six seed? Right?

I think Hacksaw's formula isn't calculating the tiebreaker correctly.

                    Great catch! It's updated now.

I think we match up best with SIU amongst the top 5 teams. A lot of the other teams can go on a real big offensive run and sort of run away from us. SIU's slower pace plays well with what we can do this year, at least it seems like to me. Gonna have to play great defensively and make some shots to have a chance, of course.

That's why we beat them tonight. Mullins is going to try and out-Jake Jake again and that tends not to work well for anyone.

Yepp, it's like trying to out Kirk Kirk. Many have tried, no one outside of Wisconsin has been successful.

Yeah. To piggy back off of what others have said, I do think we match up best with Southern Illinois out of this top tier of teams. The fact they just don't do much on offense outside of Domask is a huge benefit, even though they are a great defensive team. Road games are never easy, but we should have a good shot if we play like we did at Mo St. A win tonight would be a great boost going into Saturday against Belmont.

                            Sunday*
