Game 7 vs. Belmont - 7 PM, 11/29/23 (MVC Opener)

Since we didn't have a game thread up yet I figured I'd start this. MVC Opener tonight against Belmont in the McLeod Center. Hope we see the same team and performance that we did against Stanford (particularly that 1st half performance). UNI currently listed as 8.5 point favorites. GO PANTHERS!!!

Belmont has really struggled to defend consistently. Get the ball moving and get them in rotation.

Tyson, Gillespie and Davidson can put the ball in the bucket and they've got a transfer big in Malik Dia that can cause some issues on that end as well so it's going to be a big night for Hutson to defend without fouling.

Looking forward to being in the building tonight...hope there's a nice week night crowd and UNI defends well. UNI is best when it has guys who understand how Jake wants them to guard people... Stanford the D looked great... Texas Tech and North Texas weren't bad came out on the wrong end of tight games. If we defend well for a full 40 minutes we should come out on the right end tonight. .

On a side note if Hutson could bury free throws at a high clip he'd almost feel like the second coming of Adam Koch. Skilled in the post...draws a lot of fouls. I really like Hutson as a player and what he brings to the table on both ends of the floor can't wait to see him continue to get more comfortable in the system.

I think this is going to be a fun team to watch in the MVC.

Sometimes getting a T is good but that was stupid and only hurts you. Tell them they’ll see they made a **** call when they review film and move on. You are only costing us points and we’re too inconsistent to give any points away.
