I had a feeling it would be Wisconsin. I know nothing about the kid, but the Wisconsin offer was the one I thought could threaten UNI's ability to get the kid. A solid school, a great town, and a very good basketball program/coach is tough to beat. Good luck to the kid.

How many recruits have we lost to Wisconsin lately? It seems like this is becoming an annoying trend.

Doesn't mean I'm not going to enjoy every minute of wiping the floor with them in Vegas this fall.

This is who we are really competing with for recruits now in this part of the country. Similar offensive and defensive philosophys, etc.

To be in the conversation with them is not a bad thing, IMO. Just need to win a few of the battles. (Like taking the Koch boys out of WI, hopefully Rank proves to be a steal as well).

Exactly... It would be great to get a series going with them, but I don't think it will ever happen.

It would be great. Imagine the amount of purple that would be in Madison for that game. A 2 or 3 for one over the course of 6 years, or so, with them would be pretty cool.

Disappointing to lose out on this kid but less disappointed than if he would've stayed in-state for UI or ISU. Should be a pretty solid player for the Badgers.

Also, wanted to chime in on the Indiana conversation... I really feel that in a couple years Indiana will be back challenging for the top of the Big 10/2. I think Coach Crean is the perfect fit for them as he is a great person along with being a very solid coach. I think he has gotten the alumni and fans to believe that it's going to take a couple of years to get this turned around, and they understand that they sold their soul to the devil with the hiring of Sampson and are now slowly trying to get it back.(which is the right way) They're basically starting from the ground up and I think they got the right guy to do it. A straightforward coach that'll tell it like it is, to both the players and the people in the seats. Even though the Hoosiers didn't win many games last year, they were close in quite a few just because they were the hardest working team on the court. I saw about a game and a half of their's and I remember them being fun to watch, just because they all played their tails off. Here's to Indiana turning it around because I agree, college basketball is better off with them winning.

Dang, that was a lot longer than I thought it was going to be. Sorry guys...

I smell a rivalry game, and a rivalry trophy. Battle for the Border?

                  I'm in.

I guess Uthoff doesn't want to play in the NBA since he didn't sign with Iowa State.

wisconsin's long line of 6-8 to 6-10 white dudes seem to pop up around the league here and there.

So who all else is on the radar now that we didn't get Uthoff

i dont think that there is a pressing need to fill that 5th ride, is there? obviously oglesby has his offer but i am not sure who else still does. 5th guys in a class isnt ideal but we do have a history of using redshirts. i am not sure who that would be out of this class though. they all should be ready to play right away.

Jake has shown he's not at all opposed to banking schollys. My guess is now he would get very, very selective with the last one.

2012 and 2013 are also very good classes and an extra ride wouldn't kill us with Paige, Woodbury, Gessel, Montague, and Plugge out there in the next couple of years...

                              THIS.

Bringing in 4 high-quality recruits already means this class is a success.

Umm... name the last UW game that didnt sell out.... good luck getting a lot of purple in the Kohl in any place but the 3rd level (which is never, ever visible -- very dark up there).

I do think it would be an interesting series. A 2 for 1 would be really nice... but with Bucky having similar in-state commitments to UW-GM and UW-Milwaukee I dont see it happening.
