Overall, it will take a proactive approach that creates a positive image to staying. Maybe they need some cool post-game traditions (other than tearing down the goalposts). Seriously, something like a "Postlude Dance" could build on an existing great tradition.
UNI "fan to be"...Drake is not a rival. Repeat after me...Drake is not a rival. OK...carry on.

The only problem with the team entrance is they dick up the timing just about every game. Otherwise it's very well conceived.

Since the series renewed in 2005 after a 20-year span of not playing, UNI has won all four games by at LEAST 31 points (2005: 52-17 in CF, 2006: 48-7 in DM, 2007: 45-7 in DM, 2013: 45-14 in CF).

If they can come up with some sort of gimmick to get people (especially students) to stay for the full game more often, great! But I just can't think of anything that would get the job done.

Regardless of whether Drake is a "rival," large amounts of fans leaving at halftime of any game against any opponent with any score is not the culture you want to have. That is my main point.

I've given a few ideas. Hopefully, this task force and this forum will come up with ideas and strategies that will help.

Overall, we had a great time at the game. NI has so much going for it. I hope the game day experience just keeps getting better and better.

One final thought on beer at UNI games. I think that because UNI is more family oriented is exactly why it would work with few disruptions. They serve beer at Chuck E Cheese for crying out loud.

Whatever the new video board turns out to be... Have someone who is an expert in running it! Let's see highlights (multiple angles) and every play. MVFC rules allow one full speed replay of even controversial calls. Show stats frequently and updates on other games. Besides a good game the video board is the biggest way to keep the fans involved.

I believe that we have to charge for parking. It doesn't have to be a lot, like $5.00 per car and $10.00 for motorhomes and campers. Look at how much more ISU and Iowa have in their budgets and they still charge for parking. I know at Iowa it is not all collected by the University some is private parties but still UNI needs the money for funding more than they do and we are the only ones not collecting. It cost me $50.00 to park an RV in Iowa City and $20.00 in Ames, per game. There are places in both Iowa City & Ames that you can park for free but it's on the street a long ways from the stadium. We could offer free parking (non tailgating) lots by Gallagher Bluedorn or something.

Raffle in the fourth quarter that you need to be present to win. Maybe $1000 or $2000. Small potatoes in the overall budget, but certainly big enough to get someone's attention if they win.

Sadly - the winner will need to be "announced" over the video board, as no one will understand the PA announcement.

The idea of a 50/50 raffle could certainly be beneficial (half the money collected goes towards the raffle prize, the other half towards the athletic program/booster club/scholarship club/whatever. Or something similar). Not sure on the exact regulations on that sort of thing, but I think they do something like that at black hawk games, and I thought I heard of other schools holding such raffles.

I like this idea. Announce the winner during the last 4-5 minutes of the game so that anyone who bought tickets will stay. It will also bring in revenue, no matter how small, for the athletic programs.

I also like the idea of charging to park for non-PSC members.

Raffles are always a great idea. I was at a D-III softball game last weekend and a crowd of maybe a 100 people generated $500-600+. Imagine what a crowd in the UNI-Dome/McLeod could generate behind a well-organized effort several times a year.

Amend the original idea - if the winner is not present, roll over the cash for the next game. Kinda like the powerball jackpot - theoretically could have $10,000+ prize at the end of the season.

Bad analogy. You don't tailgate for 3 hrs before dining at Chucky & then you are not in the restaurant for another 3 hrs.

Apparently you don't have kids. I get as much alcohol into me as physically possible - no room for the Chucky germs to enter into my system. Plus, 500+ screaming kids...

I really don't think that selling beer would be the huge financial windfall for the university that some seem to think it would be.

But I also don't think it would drasitcally change the environment to something that is family un-friendly.
