  • UNI Football Confidence Picks Game

    1. Before the kickoff of the UNI/Montana game, pick whether UNI wins or loses in each of game.
    2. Assign confidence points for each
If you are still interested, go on to the next post to see an example of how it works.

Example. Here is a set of confidence picks by a diehard Panther fan who thinks UNI will win every game! He has assigned confidence points in descending order (11 points for beating Montana, 10 Iowa, etc.) So, if they actually win nine games (losing only to SDSU and WIU), here is how the scoring would work:
    • Montana. UNI wins, so he earns 11 Confidence Points. +11.
    • Iowa. UNI wins, so he earns 10 Confidence Points. +21.
    • Hampton. UNI wins, so he earns 9 Confidence Points. +30.
    • Indiana State. UNI wins, so he earns 8 Confidence Points. +38.
    • North Dakota State. UNI wins, so he earns 7 Confidence Points. +45.
    • South Dakota. UNI wins, so he earns 6 Confidence Points. +51.
    • South Dakota State. UNI loses, so he loses 5 Confidence Points. +46.
    • Western Illinois. UNI loses, so he loses 4 Confidence Points. +42.
    • Illinois State. UNI wins, so he earns 3 Confidence Points. +45.
    • Youngstown State. UNI wins, so he earns 2 Confidence Points. +47.
    • Missouri State. UNI wins, so he earns 1 Confidence Point. +48.
Last year final scores ranged from 12 to 46.

Next, I will post my picks. If you wish, you can cut, paste, and edit for your picks.

BC, I'm keeping my eye on you. I don't want any of that tie-business this year.

I was originally going to skip this and just wager on games like a normal member of society, but apparently no sites let you wager on FCS games. As it is, I'll give this another spin. I think I was mediocre last year, so time to separate myself from the pack (in one direction or another):

                          At Montana: L, 2 points
                          At Iowa: L, 1 points
                          Hampton: W, 11 points
At Indiana State: W, 10 points
North Dakota State: W, 3 points
At South Dakota: W, 6 points
South Dakota State: L, 4 point
At Western Illinois: W, 8 points
                          Illinois State: W, 5 points
At Youngstown State: W, 7 points
                          Missouri State: W, 9 points

For what it's worth, I genuinely feel that way about the confidence. I honestly think that the Iowa game is 50/50. I got a really good feeling that we're going to ruin their season this year.

I've got a good feeling about this team, better than I have in a while. I'm not picking winning every game again this year, gonna try to win this thing. Still it's hard to pick them to lose any game. Going with the usual slow start, the usual strong finish, and the let down and injury plagued loss after the big win over NDSU. Bringing the conference title back where it belongs, getting a first round bye and winning the next two at home. After that I'll have to wait and see what the rest of the playoffs look like to predict any further.

I wouldn't trade any of the wins I've picked for one over Iowa, but I sure would like to see it.

                              GO PANTHERS!
