Might as well give Farley a lifetime contract with this line is scared small timt thinkingOriginally posted by sevelev711 View PostUNI already operates in the hole. Unless ticket sales fall below 1,000, then there is this just no way to justify the money to fire Farley (and pay the replacement). Not to mention that a lot of people still like Farley, so some fans (and donors) could be upset by the move.
There is also the possible, even likely scenario, that the new coach doesn't do well right away, and I can't imagine this fanbase will give him a couple years to set up the system, whether fair or not.
Would it be nice to get rid of Farley? Yes it would. Should we? Probably not. It's just another fun way that Dannen hosed us long term.
1. This fan base is hemmoraging ticket sales. We've seen the numbers, David has shown them, and this year will make it worse. Look at social media - or here - there are more than a couple off hand comments about pulling tickets or donations. It won't take much for season football tickets to fall to below the level of basketball tickets. Think about that.
1a. What about the donors that want him gone? Do they matter less?
2. What if a new coach doesnt do well right away? Big deal. It's not like we've accomplish **** in the last decade anyway. This fan base has given Farley a decade of stepping in his own dick time after time after time time in the same exact way every single time. Then we've listened to his comments about how it won't happen again but at least he stepped in his dick the Panther way. Which at this point is a correct statement. Panther football has become stepping on our own dicks.
2a. What if a new coach comes in and wins big? Comes in and we don't **** our pants in half our road games. We aren't 2-4 for the 8th time in 9 seasons after 6 games. We don't back into the playoffs and get fed a little child of the poor over Thanksgiving weekend in front of 28 people that allows the coach to go "see we made playoffs and won a game"
3. Why shouldn't we move on? Take out the emotional attatchatt with him being the walk in from waukon. If you want to run an athletic department out of fear that it could be worse I don't want to be a part of that athletic department

As a Vikings fan I think Zimmer and Farley are the same guy.
Too scared to let offense win in an era where that is exactly what it takes.
Our group has been going to Iowa State games occasionally the past couple years when UNI is on the road. They got a winner for a coach.
Like previous poster said, current students have no reason to support the product.
we sat In student section yesterday. It was empty so we just walk over there and sat at 50 yard line. Lots of adults did same thing.
