Can someone tell me which PTL team Lucas O'Rear is on? I saw a list of teams and players - but didn't see his name.

The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

Re: Ptl
Panther2317 and I saw Colton play this past season. Believe he will be a redshirt this fall for the Panthers. Hope he gets in a lot of practice, lifting, etc....he's going to need it to play in the Valley. Love to see Bucky get his hands on him for the high jump, think thats his best talent!

I believe Benny is playing in the Capital City League too, if I remember correctly. The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Re: Ptl
I agree, it is good to see the Peacocks get mentioned. I was employed on that campus for 5 years and developed some good relations with the athletic people and others. In fact, was there last Friday for the athletic golf outing and had a great time. Saw Coach Heller participating. Coach D is also a grad of UIU. They (UIU) are top notch people and I think we will see some (more) success in the Northern Sun Conference.
I am; UNI grad and Panther forever AND appreciate the Peacocks, also.I will burn the bridge before you can cross it.

Re: Ptl
It was a decent showing for the UNI guys last night. Here is my two cents on each player (which doesn't mean too much)!
Adam Koch - He played pretty well. He was aggresive and looked like he's even put on some more muscle. Still didn't shoot the outside shot too great (although the actually shot didn't look too bad). We are going to need a lot out of him this year and I think he'll be able to provide that.
Brian Haak - He put on some more muscle and looked pretty solid, still not a starter in the Valley, but a capable back up. As always made some good decisions with the ball.
Kwazdo Ahelegbe - He wasn't there (even though originally I said he was).
Travis Brown - Travis played pretty good. He was really aggresive taking it to the hoop and was knocking down his 3's. If he can carry this over to the regular season he'll be a huge weapon for us.
Carlton Reed - Was aggresive to the basket for most of the game but I didn't think he finished too well. He a couple open shots which was nice to see. At times he did look a little lost, but overall had a pretty decent showing.
Ali F (not even going to try and spell it) - I actually only got to see a little bit of this game. But from what I heard (and the little I saw) he had a decent game. Nothing too flashy, just a solid PG.
Austin Phel - He has a good body, but he looked pretty raw. Hopefully we can afford him to redshirt because that would be really nice for him. Give him a few years of practice and developing and I think he can be a pretty special player.
Jake Koch - He seems to be a little bit better shooter than Adam, but he lack the explosiveness that Adam has. He has a decent body, but a year of lifting and conditioning will help him out a lot. I don't think he'll be quite as solid as Adam right away, but he should develop into a good player.
Adam Rodenberg - He is a pretty thick guy. He can bang a little with the big guys and maybe give us a few minutes here and there, but he's not going to be playing any significant minutes in my opinion. He does have a little talent, but I think his biggest asset will be another big body in practice.
Anthony James - He's not very big at all. I'm not sure what he's listed at but if he's 5'10" I'd be shocked. He had a monster one handed dunk on a break away though, so he's definetly an athlete. His body isn't ready yet for the Valley, but if he puts on some weight he could be a nice PG for us down the road becaue he does have some talent. His shot didn't look too great either last night, but that should come around with some time in the gym.
Kerwin Dunham - He has definitley added some much needed muscle which was nice to see. He was a lot more aggresive and stronger going to the hoop than I've ever seen out of him. I think he's going to really impress people this year and the next few. I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can do next year.
Jon Montgomery - He played a pretyy good all around game. Played as hard of D as anyone last night. Also hit a nice 3 and played a good floor game. Was a little reluctant to handle the ball at the top of the key, but other than that IO thought he had a nice game.
Other noteables
Benny J - Back to his old self. Took over the game down the stretch.
Jordan Egelseder - Didn't play due to knee surgery. Hopefully he gets some games in by the end of the summer.
Marcus Paige - Going to be a freshman in HS at Linn-Mar. The kid is so weak compared to these guys with D-1 bodies, but you can tell he has some talent. It was way too hard to judge him though because he was getting handled by some physical guys.
I'm sure I'm missing some other guys so if I remember I'll post some more comments. This is just my thoughts on the night.Last edited by Panther Cat; 06-24-2008, 12:50 PM.
