isu was supposed to lose to a coble-less Northwestern on a neutral court? and to UNI at home?

I guarantee 80% of clone fans had these chalked up as wins.

They weren't chalked up as wins, but they were games that we very easily could have won, but just couldn't finish. Which is what lack of experience will do.
I'll admit, at this point in the year, I figured ISU would have 1-2 losses, not 3. I really wish we could get either the Northwestern or UNI game back...

I would say at this point we are average. Far from BAD and far from Great.

All of the tools are there. Just seems like something isn't clicking on the court yet. Hopefully they can put it together for the Big 12 season. Would be a nice boost for our mathmatical formulas.

me too. ive always cheered for ISU and even more so since MAC arrived. the guard play just isnt there, and you cant win in college without good guard play.

I think they will get things together in the next few games. The team is getting more chemistry game by game.

Good guard play is very important, I think Diante has made huge strides from last season. And he will get better as the season progresses, he is finally starting to realize his true role on the team. But, still makes some mistakes from time to time.
That being said, having good guards isn't always the most important factor in a team. Ask Curtis Stinson and Will Blalock.

I think we will get 15-20 votes next week and it will probably take another 5 wins in a row to break into the top 25. 5 more wins will require us to win out the rest of out non-conf, beat Creighton in Omaha, beat Evansville at home, and MSU at home. IMO this is very doable.

I like that we are playing CU in Omaha so early again this year. Maybe we can catch them while they are still struggling, before they hit their stride.

All depends on how well those teams finish. Right now, I'd say probably not. But I still think ISU could have a decent year, and BC has tons of chances to get good wins in the ACC, and Siena isn't likely to lose many games the rest of the year in their conference. I think at the end of the year, those wins will look even better. At least, we hope they do.

All depends on how well those teams finish. Right now, I'd say probably not. But I still think ISU could have a decent year, and BC has tons of chances to get good wins in the ACC, and Siena isn't likely to lose many games the rest of the year in their conference. I think at the end of the year, those wins will look even better. At least, we hope they do.

I think ISU, Boston College and Siena all have good shots at being NCAA tournament teams. IF ISU can put it together as a team they can do it. BC looked strong @ Providence, @Michigan and beat 9-1 Miami (miami hasn't really played anyone too tough, Minnesota and South Carolina being the toughest), but then they go and lose to Harvard. They're 6-3 but who knows, I think they can. Siena will most likely dominate the rest of their schedule and be a tournament team yet again. I think we've beaten 3, at least 2 NCAA tournament qualifying caliber teams. I'll cheer for them to win out.

A close 3rd place and a win or 2 in the MVC tourney and probably. although, you never know if this is a love the "mid major year" or a screw the mid major year. If the last couple of years are any indication then it is a screw the mid major year. But it will be hard to justify putting BC and ISU in before us. Lets hope we all three have good seasons. Maybe we get lucky and ISU beats Kansas and BC beats UNC.

With the Bush recession and the major cuts at all the schools I say the BCS schools dominate selection sunday so they can gobble up as much cash as possible. So good bet this a screw the mid major year. I know this is conspiratorial. If we win it does not matter!!!!!

I think 12-6, win the BB (at home), one game in STL and we'll be 23-8 and that enough for an at-large bid.
