True. I was talking more during the Big 12 season when teams figured out that we didn't have any outside threat, and he was our only player.

I remember that game and was not that impressed by Brackins. He seemed slow and clumsy. If I remember the reason we lost that game was because of us. We played horrid just as we did for most of the first half. We could not have beaten Wartburg that night. Yet it was still close. Overtime I think?

Maybe you are right Brackins is a stud. Maybe he got better since the UNI game.

Personally seems like hype to me.

FYI, Dick Vitale's pre-season top 40. No UNI.

Sienna at 35. That is going to be a good game for us.

I used to like him... And he does try to stick up for the "little guy" at tournament time, but this list is full of a lot of Digger Phelps-highlighter green Kool-Aid.

I think Katz has Sienna at like 17 or 18.

slow and clumsy? maybe in overtime after he had played the entire game and was STILL scoring.
"I think they're very good," Farley said of the preseason top 25 Hawkeyes. "But so are we."

He did. A lot better. He improved so much over the season last year, it wasn't even funny.

So maybe I am not so off in thinking he was not all that impressive when I saw him play UNI. I don't follow ISU so I only saw him play that one game.

Hope he has one bad game this year and the rest he kicks butt!!!

It would be great to have the MVC and BIG 12 conference champs in the same state!!!!

He probably played worse against Iowa. He had a couple of poor games in the non-conf. So, yeah, if you only saw him play in that game or a couple others in non-conf. then you wouldn't be as impressed. He really stepped it up in conference play.
As far as your final quote... UNI could very well be MVC champs again, but I doubt ISU will be Big 12 champs. I'm shooting for more around .500 in conference play, and that should put us on the bubble for the tourny.

I personally thought Brackins smoked us in that game. Whether it was because he was great or we had a poor gameplan, I don't know. But that game sucked.

What do you expect? It's up to the mid major teams to prove they belong in this list by pulling upsets, not the other way around. This has nothing to do with making the tourney, but more his informed opinion of the nation's top 40 teams based on talent and record last year.

He should match-up much better. A good performance against Brackins would help his draft stock.

Right... But having Butler, Gonzaga, and Sienna as your only Mid-Majors in the top 40 doesn't exactly tell me he's done much research at all. And even the three he did pick deserve more respect than he showed them.
