    A request from Coach Jake

    Panther fans----please help pass the word. Coach Jake wants your help. Instead of standing until the Panthers score, STAND UNTIL OUR OPPONENTS SCORE. I know Coach Miller made this request years ago but we were never able to get it changed. Old habits are difficult to break. But, the purpose of standing at the start of each half is to support our guys when they are on DEFENSE. The more the opponent misses the louder and more intense the crowd. This will be announced before we tip on Tuesday, but I need your help in getting this done. Again, this comes from Jake. Let's make it happen.

    You don't break out the Purple and Gold on game days or look for special gifts and gadgets bearing the colors because you want to be seen among the loyal. Purple and Gold aren't colors you see---they're colors you feel. They run through your veins with a continuous roar.

        This tradition goes back to Ben's playing days at UND with Rich Glas....

        I'm glad he is trying to reverse it, it never made much sense the other way, if UNI (your) team does not score, it builds presssure on them while everyone is standing...lol

          A, ya---as was said it will be announced. But doing so over and over through out the game goes beyond what can be done at the table. But, J.C., you could do so.

                              I understand what they are trying to do... But this is one of the few traditions we have that we actually get everyone to do. Mess with it too much and we might lose it all together.
