We're the highest ranked/rated team in the BB. We should get a higher rated opponent, one that beating them will help our RPI, isn't that why it's called braketbusters?

There really aren't any great road team RPI's in the event. The best is Siena at 38 and we can't play them.

Next options are Old Dominion at 39, William and Mary at 51 or La Tech at 58.

Is this guaranteed? I can't find the "rules" anywhere. Technically we have already played La Tech in the first ever Bracketbuster.

i don't understand the "home team" thing. I know we played on the road for last years BB but why does that dictate this yr? I'd rather travel to Butler than host La Tech.

I am not a fan. We are in a lose lose this year. Beat an Old Dominion or Bill and Mary, we are supposed to, lose, it kills us. We are better off without them. The Bracketbuster needs to be re-shuffled for bubble teams from Mid-Majors to square off against bubble teams from BCS conference.

ODU is the only opponent that can help our resume. It would give us a top 50 win, which we do not have right now. ODU has beaten Georgetown and barely lost to Mizzou. La Tech does nothing for our resume.

We have a top-50 win over Siena.

I would prefer ODU or W&M, but the CAA is currently the 12th rated conference.

La Tech is in the WAC, which is 10th right behind the Valley.

Home and road teams rotate, usually each year, but are established prior to the season. I think I read somewhere that the return games from this year are going to be delayed a year in order to re-set some of the home/away teams next year.

I am not a fan. We are in a lose lose this year. Beat an Old Dominion or Bill and Mary, we are supposed to, lose, it kills us. We are better off without them. The Bracketbuster needs to be re-shuffled for bubble teams from Mid-Majors to square off against bubble teams from BCS conference.

That would be an interesting idea. Wouldn't it be cool if we got a bubble team from the B12 or SEC or whatever to come to the McLeod for a bracketbuster game?

The BCS (or "power 6", as is the term dujour) conferences would never agree to it. They would have to play road games vs. "mid-majors", and they would have too high a likelihood of losing, which could conceivably hurt their tournament chances.

That is the same reason we can't schedule anyone decent in football or basketball out of state. It would put the other team in a the same lose lose pickle.

I think our resume is fine as a Tourney team. Barring a meltdown I think we're in. Beating any three of ODU, W&M or LA Tech gives us just another win over a probable tournament team.

Honestly at this point we just need another win. At this moment I could care less who we play. Now this could change if we lose 3 out of our next 4 or something like that.

I never once said that Bracket Buster has never done anything for us. I simply asked in which years has it helped us. For example, did the Bucknell win in 3 or 4 years ago help us more than the Sienna loss hurt us last year. Seeding purposes I mean. Yes, Bucknell was in my opinion the only year we benefited from Bracketbuster.
