So the first half was great, ball movement, tight defense, shooting, you name it. Second half... What the f**k? Everything was going wrong. If Pembroke's two best players didn't foul out, Cats probably lose. That second half can't happen... ever. Hell, half of that second half can't happen. Carlson was 2-13. That can't happen... ever. Holy cow...

1) This team needs Wyatt. And unfortunately I have zero faith he will ever play.
2) Klint and Koch will win us some games but so far its been very discouraging and more of last year.
3) The young guys look good

Klint struggled offensively, but he never quit and provided some good leadership down the stretch! It looked like our other starting big man didn't want to be there!

Pickford was amazing. His 1st double-double already as a Panther. Not sure what exactly happened in the 2nd half. Koch did not look good at all and Carlson had no offensive rhythm. I like what I am seeing from Juwan, aggressive and getting to the foul line. The biggest issue on D as a team is keeping the ball in front of you. Saw multiple times where UNC-P was able to get by their defender fairly easily.

Took another look at the 2nd half. Koch looked absolutely unmotivated. Not sure what is going on there, probably why Jake benched him for half the 2nd half. We also had zero post presence in the 2nd half even with Phyfe in the game. Very much the opposite of last season almost, Koch in the post was our best option to score last season and now tonight we have no post presence and were able to win by making free throws from driving into the lane (Juwan) and hitting some 3's late thanks to Pickford. Have to have both if we are going to have any chance this season.

My takeaways... Tywhon is this teams best player. I don't care if he's a freshman, there is nobody on this roster who offers rebounding and scoring like him. This team will go as the seniors take them. If they step up, I really think the sky is the limit. The only problem is that seems to be a huge if right now.

Spencer also did well. 4/7 from 3pt (a couple NBA range) and handled the ball well.

Bad news, Lohaus is still officially day-to-day, however, he hasn't even been practicing. Obviously not going to be ready for UNC, who the heck knows if he'll be ready for Atlantis.

I'm resigned to the fact he'll never be a 3-pt threat, but if he can nail his free throws, he can be a real difference maker on penetration drives.

He doesn't need to be a 3 pt threat. But he needs to be able to make a 3 pointer (i.e. need to at least guard him on the perimeter)
