Definitely a brighter purple. Don't love the design but still nice to have a new floor.

Yeah, it's incredibly simple. I'm not saying it needs to be over the top, like Oregon or TCU or anything, but the single shade of wood throughout the whole floor isn't the best look, imo. The "paint" doesn't even have "paint" in it.Originally posted by BCPanther View PostDefinitely a brighter purple. Don't love the design but still nice to have a new floor.

That is not the feed I saw. The portion I saw had the crew working hard. Accuracy is their primary concern. This is all about precision not speed.Originally posted by vbfan19must be a union job. 2-3 people actually doing work, a dozen or so just standing around. (kidding)
I think it looks simple but classy. I like the darker purple. I think it will be awesome.

My two complaints are similar. I'd have done either purple lanes or some wood shading. Also, baselines should say UNI Panthers rather than Northern Iowa.
We've got a brand crisis and it's mostly self inflicted.
Could be worse, could be Missouri State.

I'm okay with the "Northern Iowa," but I've got the (admittedly unpopular) opinion of "I'd rather the school be known as Northern Iowa rather than UNI." But yes, it's not the travesty that is Missouri State's floor, with that big-a** bear that stretches from East Springfield to West. It's a perfectly fine floor. It's just fine.Originally posted by BCPanther View Post

The problem with Missouri State is that it's so damn dark. I think our new logo is about the same size but it's a lot more pleasing color wise. They picked about the darkest shade of maroon you can before it becomes black. aTm does maroon right...

I like it. The bigger logo and yellow/gold lettering on the baseline look nice. I would have been ok with the lane being painted, but I think it's good as is and I'm glad the wood shading is long gone, yuck. I am a little surprised they didn't incorporate any social media things (#UNIFight, Athletics Twitter/ Instagram handles) somewhere on the sidelines. To avoid confusion - my username is baseball (Cy Young award) related, NOT for the Cyclones.

We're still waiting to see if this whole social media thing catches on before making that kind of commitment. I think the "Robert J McCoy Court" on the opposite side should have been reversed so people on that side could read it. Same with the Caseys logo there. Not upset about those things though, just think it would have made more sense, it's not like there is a home side and a visitors side.Originally posted by CyCarp View PostI am a little surprised they didn't incorporate any social media things (#UNIFight, Athletics Twitter/ Instagram handles) somewhere on the sidelines.

Once we're sure SnapFace and Tweetgram take off we can always add them.Originally posted by GonzoCat View PostWe're still waiting to see if this whole social media thing catches on before making that kind of commitment. The logos all face the same way for TV.
