Saw that and it probably makes ODU the favorite on that side of the bracket. That Missouri team wasn't deep to start with and they just lost their best player.

Penn remains the key to our entire non-conference schedule. A loss to them and we end up with a 300+ game down there which doesn't do us any good.

Yep. Also of note, K-State is #12 in the AP Preseason poll released today. That'll easily be the best chance for a big win in non-con, just have to make sure we actually play them.

I can't sleep, so here are my predictions...

- 10-3 non conference, going 2-1 in the Virgin Islands (Jake ALWAYS seems to have the guys ready for these tourneys) and losing 2 of ODU, SD State and Iowa (please not Iowa...).

- 12-6 in conference, good for third in the Valley.

- AJ gets the Freshman of the Year. Not to put even more pressure on him, but honestly, I feel like it'll be a disappointment if he doesn't with all the hype around him. He obviously has the talent and he's been around and played with college guys for years. I just don't see him being afraid or overly tentative, not even a little bit.

- Wyatt wins MVC 6th Man award. I really think Wyatt is forgotten about on this team. He shot the 3 at just over 45% last year. I see our starters being AJ, Brown, Tywhon, Berhow, and Phyfe, so I think Wyatt really has a legit shot at the award - if he stays healthy.

- I think we could see a few guys make 1st-3rd teams - Tywhon and AJ especially. With so many returners for other teams I could easily see AJ and Berhow or Biggie making the All Newcomer team.

Maybe a little optimistic, but I think these are all doable. It should be a fun year. Hopefully I don't look back at this in March and wonder what I was thinking!

That seems like a fair prediction. Regarding your last line, I do hope we can look back in March and think you were crazy, but because we far exceed these expectations, not because we fall short.

I don't know about you guys but I have a good feeling about this season. I think we could be in for one of our two-year periods where one team is sneaky good and the next is just good.

Also looking forward to following the rest of the MVC this season. Every team except the question marks at Drake and Evansville seems ready for a good season.

Yes. Approximately half the games will be on it, so its pretty much a necessity.

Game's actually tomorrow, but as of right now, I don't see anything listed. Not even radio coverage, so I imagine that they're just not updated on that. Especially considering that there are a bunch of other games listed as having "no coverage," despite us knowing that there is, in fact, coverage.

It works out pretty okay for us that we have a very nice ramp up in challenge for all the games at the start this year.

Exhibition 1: D-III school
Exhibition 2: D-II school
Exhibition 3/Game 1: D-II school
Game 2: Probably bad D-I school
Game 3: Okay D-I school
Game 4 (assuming we win game 3): Very Good D-I school

I would agree. This schedule is not as challenging as some that we have put together, but it works well for what is a young and unproven team. The month on the road is not preferable, but it may also help bond the team as well-who knows. Looking for positives. Should be able to get off to a good start tomorrow. Really need to be together for the Penn game.
