Not unless somebody has $6 Million to buy him out plus another $2 Million to make another hire.

I don't think about year like the past couple is anything we need to worry about. We'll look back at them as an aberration fueled by a couple years of poor recruiting.

Hot as in job might be in jeopardy???

      No. No chance.

He's got AJ Green in the house and a really good pipeline coming in. Plus he's a great ambassador and the community loves him. And he runs the cleanest program around.

He'd hear a little noise...but no legitimate heat.
Winning is more fun than losing.

Almost certainly not, for so many reasons:
        • We're only losing one person to graduation, returning the whole rest of the team as well as that fairly good looking recruiting class you mentioned.
        • Often times, it wasn't Jacobson's fault, unless you want to argue that he recruited the wrong players, in which case you may have an argument.
        • Everyone loves him, fans, players, opposition, everyone. Wouldn't exactly be a popular move for an AD who hasn't made many bad decisions. Not to mention that players (I would assume) want to play for Jacobson. Get rid of him, and you probably get rid of some of that recruiting class. On that line of thought...
        • He still has quite a bit of good will from both the Sweet 16 and Top 10 years. It's not like a Farley situation where the last impressive thing he's done was 10+ years ago. And on that line of thought...
        • It's pretty well accepted that the last two years were part of rebuild. Could it have gone better regardless? Absolutely, were there obvious things that needed to be improved? Sure, but that was then, this is now. And the now looks pretty GD good.
        • As for next year specifically, the conference has a team that went to the Final Four, returning most of their team, and they're probably not even the favorites to win. Valley will be stacked next year, and in a one-bid conference, it'll be hard to get through Arch Madness.
After writing it all out, I guess it would depend on how bad of a season you're talking about. If it's last three of the MVC, then maybe, but even then there's qualifiers. If Tywhon's leg keeps acting up and AJ gets clipped by a car crossing the street, there's not much you can do. So I would say probably not, unless there's a bad season with no silver lining at the end. Like, if Tywhon, Phyfe, etc. don't appear to be getting better, then the seat gets warmer. And only then does it even get warm, it's still a ways off from the hot seat, and even further off from firing him. Somehow, I get the feeling that the FOUR STAR RECRUIT coming in will cover up for any and all poor decisions by Jacobson, cooling off that seat by quite a bit.

The big thing about Jake is, we're not going to find anybody better. There have been some frustrating times under a him, but it's just kind of a cycle. As much as we want success every single year, it's not easy for a program like us. I think he has us in a great position for a good run of years. If we get 2-3 more years down the line without some success, then yes, the seat is going to get hot.

now that we know Croft is redshirting:

              AJ - 30
              Pickford - 30
              Berhow - 25
              Brown - 30
              Biggie - 25
              _________

              Phyfe - 25
              Wyatt - 25

              Spencer/Dahl/Luke - 10

Not good news on Ty’s injury. I would not count on him for much of the non conference season if he is out at least another 6 weeks. That means he would have been out the entire summer and early fall.

Wont be in basketball shape, and missed an entire offseason of development.

So assuming Tywhon is out for an extended period of time, who does his minutes go to?

Berhow will pretty much step right into Ty’s role. His immediate eligibility is enormous for us.

Kevin Lehman said Croft is ineligible because of GPA on On press Row today. Whose to say he doesnt get it done this year for grades. Like I said not a good feeling with him coming out of community college with poor grades. Won’t be suprised if he doesn’t play a game in a UNI uniform.

I'm assuming best case scenario is we have Pickford ready for conference play?

I’d have to agree on possibly never playing. If you cant get it together at the juco level where academics are not exactly hard then I don’t have high hopes. I would assume jake isn’t thrilled about this as now he’s taking up a scholarship that he thought he was getting use out of right away. I would think he prob would have held on to it if he knew this was going to happen. Kinda on jake for going after a kid he had to have known was struggling. Hope the kid gets the support he needs academically to continue on.

Let's give the guy a chance. Bad grades in community college indicates to me a lack of effort. He will have great support and will be driven by the chance to play D1 ball. Plenty of students who come from community college end up doing just fine at UNI

The timeline has him ready for possibly the beginning of the season. With Berhow able to play that allows us to take as much time as we want to allow Pickford to not only be healthily but also play him spot min. To get back into game shape after being out so long.

That would be my guess, honestly. You just cant mess around with these stress fractures, come back too early and your whole season is gone...
