Northern Colorado playing West Virginia pretty tight too. Interesting note since we play West Virginia next week - at home vs Northern Colorado we were favored by 9.5, West Virginia was favorite by 16.
That’s pretty interesting that they got out rebounded that badly and still just barely got beat. SMU also had 17 offensive rebounds to UE’s 3, and still only a 2 point game. I assume that means UE has some guard talent this year?

They do. Williams, Cunliffe, Hall and Riley are all nice players. Williams has a chance to be a star in this league in the future.

They have absolutely nothing inside though. They're in real trouble against Phyfe, Krutwig, Childs and Idowu.

      • Looks like Evansville made up for that Kentucky win tonight by being murdered by East Carolina.

        • Illinois State lost a one point game to Cincinnati, in a game that would've been great for the MVC. Missou State picked up one against St Joes, and Valpo beat Grand Canyon, which is actually nice since we play Valpo twice rather than just the one @GCU.

          • 2 of our next 3 D1 opponents are currently undefeated - and possibly all 3 if we play Wichita St. It's still fairly early, but thought it was an interesting note.

            • You can look at some of the names on our schedule and be underwhelmed, but ODU, WVU, SC/WSU and Colorado all have a lot of potential. Marshall and Grand Canyon probably won't pan out as nicely as we thought when they were first scheduled, but keep winning and it shouldn't matter

              • Evansville looks bad, Thursday team bad. I think there was a glitch in the matrix when they beat Kentucky.

                • Eville drops to George Washington and ISUr dropped a big one to WKU. MVC showing why it doesn't get a ton of credit anymore. Really need to win some of these upcoming games, because those fun few days of the conference looking decent on a national scale are gone.

                  • Buffalo beats Missouri St by 1 pt. Neutral site game. Not the Buffalo of last year, they haven't impressed this season.

Valley might actually be worse than people predicted. This was supposed to be the good team of the conference. At large chances are dead for everyone sans UNI, but that could end by Wednesday if the team doesn't pick up at least one. Gotta win the three games in March or at the very least, find ourselves with only 4 losses going into tournament weekend.

Yea, I don't mean to say Buffalo is a bad team, but they lost a lot from last year, and they also dropped their home opener to Dartmouth, which is pretty rough. It's a game the valley favorite needs to be able to pull off (not that I buy into them being the favorites)

                        • Absolute disaster for the Valley so far. UNI the only team with a chance and we have yet to face the meat of the non conference schedule.

If we are able to reach our potential this year, we could really pile up the W’s, and win the league title.

                          • I'd like to know how Evansville beat Kentucky. Needed triple OT against Morgan St today, and they were down double digits under 4 minutes. Then Valpo gets killed by Nevada... yuck.

Calipari always picks one of his cupcakes where he doesn't coach his team up and makes them bail themselves out. His team wasn't ready for that. The flukiest of fluke wins.

                              • Add Valpo-Cinci to the mountain of missed opportunities for the valley. Took them to the wire and couldn't hang on in OT.

The rest of the valley did so poor today it's hardly worth mentioning. Hopefully Bradley can mercifully end the day on a high note.
