I had completely forgot about Heise until I saw this on Twitter. Does any have a good summary of what we are getting in him?

Kerwin Dunham with a better college offensive skill set.

So best case scenario filling a Paul Jesperson type role with his length?

I'm so incredibly glad to see that Anderson hasn't decided to completely go by Ty, because god dang "Tytan Anderson" is the coolest name of all time.

Role could be similar but he's not the player that Jesperson is/was. He's never going to be the 35 minute guy that Jesperson was.

Even with two open scholarships, this seems like a great class. Bowen steps in an plays 20 mins a game, no doubt in my mind. Tytan get some minutes, but a year behind Pickford to get ready. Given how good things are going, I'll guess Heise is another Betz.

Stunning how our recruiting has picked up, 2017-2020 has been a huge talent upgrade!

              2014-2016, so many recruiting misses.

Are referring to the misses as bad signings or guys we tried to get but went elsewhere?

I'd go with scholarship just guys not developing and having to reach for guys due to misses

Look at this years senior class
McCloud - we've had threads and threads on him. He's out of basketball completely
McDermott - recruited from HS brought in as a transfer. Looks like a slightly above average D3 play
Biggie - injuries and what not he just didn't work out
Dahl - don't want to derail the thread with another Dahl ***** fest, but he just hasn't developed into minutes

The two that you could call hits are
Brown - all conference type kid we were lucky to get
                  Haldeman

One that is above average probably
McDonnell - who if it wasn't for Austin's injury probably plays as much last year as he is this year...but he was serviceable last year

Tray Croft and Tanner Lohaus are both gone and lasted a year

Wentzein - was coming on strong last year but injuries ended that
Wyatt - a hell of a player when he was healthy but injuries for sure kept him away from full potential

Morgan and Ashton were great for us.
Carlson really plateaued and even regressed after that one MVC tournament.
                  Friedman never really became anything.
Bennett Koch was better than he gets credit for
Hunter Rhodes had injuries completely derail any hope of anything
Robert Knarr - see Hunter Rhodes

Then it gets to Wes, Jesperson, Buss, Tutt, Bohannon, Marv, etc.

It's pretty clear we had a really....really....rough patch in recruiting between the HS classes of like 2012 and 2017. Which would explain the last 3 years

The guys we missed on are guys that could have made a big difference for us

                  Hauser twins
                  Pemsl
                  Brad Davison
and my mind is blank but if you go through those recruiting threads you're going to see a hell of a lot of guys that are at Iowa or Wisconsin that are rotation guys that clearly aren't suited for the role they are in but would be great here (as we discussed in another thread)

Look at this years JR class and down and you'll see a MASSIVE increase in talent overall

Ty and Trae in the Jr class
AJ and Phyfe in the So class
Betz, Kimmons and Carter playing this year
Hell, guys like Henry, Wolf, Krogmann and Gauger redshirting AND WALKING ON (Henry isn't obviously)

The reality is if you compare even Krogmann and Gauger to those classes they are close to the headliners, and now they are walk ons. It's incredible the difference.

                    So 2020-21:

                    A.J. Green
                    Bowen Born
                    Antwan Kimmons

                    Tywhon Pickford
                    Trae Berhow
                    Tytan Anderson
                    Nathan Heise

                    Austin Phyfe
                    Noah Carter
                    James Betz
                    Cole Henry

That's 11. Plus Evan Gauger, Logan Wolf, and Derek Krogmann walking on.
That leaves 2 open rides. Find a transfer?
When I look at where we are with players next year, it's hard to see a hole to be filled.

Maybe we should reach out to JBohannon and see if he wants to grad transfer next summer.

All I want for 2021 recruiting is full court press on Courbat and Deaux. I don't care how scholarships get used, I just want one of them. Or both, I'm not picky.

I really think Haldeman and Brown mean a lot to this years team, but the pieces to replace them are definitely there.

Yeah. When you look at the roster, it’s hard to figure out who he would play ahead of.
