the Missouri Valley Football Conference and the Missouri Valley Conference are two distinct entities.Originally posted by Panther'73 View Post
I thought our football conference is called the Missouri Valley???
Although the league will share the Missouri Valley name, the football-playing members will compete under a separate administrative umbrella, as the Missouri Valley Conference and the Missouri Valley Football Conference will remain separate entities.

Different entities with the same name, the same league office, the same league administrators, and many of the same schools.Originally posted by vbfan19 View Post

I was in the 2nd row for this one, with a guest for $10 admission. Great crowd tonight! Not great offense...haha. AJ bailed us out again and again. Pickford was huge on the glass. Phyfe struggled, Trae was off, Zay was on defensively but non existant on O. This game was all AJ Green. It was fun to see him take over. I echo the wish that we would actually run plays inside 3 mins on offense. Seems like we waste time and then go 1 and 1... I guess coach is fine as long as AJ has it.

Hi basketball folks! I took some photos from the game tonight after the wrestling meet, there's some on my Twitter feed and I'll have some others up...somewhere...sometime...just not sure where or when yet.

Also, and I don't know because I don't keep up on basketball as much as I probably should, but the walkaround guy on on the mic tonight was awesome! Especially during those timeouts where the crowd would sit back down/stop cheering because timeouts are like 5 minutes too long, he got them back up and going again.
Not sure when that started, but it needs to keep going

Absolutely 100% YES. AJ is not the first, just the current rendition of this philosophy at the end of games. I remember Wes vividly but it probably goes back even further. I have zero problem with AJ taking the majority of big shots at the end of games, but running some cuts and offense makes it more likely to get an open shot or get a favorable switch. And occasionally the defense will make a bigger mistake and he can hit the wide open man for a shot. He tried to pass out of it this game when he was completely swarmed, but there was so little time on the shot clock guys just shot the passing lanes and didn’t worry about defending the rim. Turnover. Again, he is incredible and deserves to have the ball In his hands but it would seem we could put him in a little better position for success.Originally posted by Blue42 View PostLove AJ but I'd like to see us run some offensive action the last 3 minutes and not just hold the ball and have AJ go 1-on-1.
Run a play for AJ with Trae as a 2nd option. Make it harder on the D. Make them defend and foul.
A good time to have this rant after a win.

AJ was incredible, and I trust others will eventually find their shot. With conference teams knowing what we want to do, those spot up 3s for Trae and Brown (and Spencer when healthy) that were there in the non-con have been harder to come by. We need to adjust.
Despite that, some huge contributions making this a team win:
- AJ taking over, nuff said.
- HUGE offensive rebound by Phyfe leading to AJ three, and huge Phyfe FT down the stretch.
- Huge Trae FTs
- Awesome rundown block by Isaiah when not giving up after his own turnover.
- Pickford beast on the boards
- Dahl is making good decisions, and has found a nifty offensive touch when called upon.
- Carter solid minutes, 3 of 4 fouls were totally ticky tack. One completely phantom and another on perfect straight up D. Word is the ref mistakingly identified Noah on his doorbell cam as egging his house on Halloween.

Ummm what? I’ve been to 3 games this season (missed this one) and there was no walk around guy. Details please.Originally posted by DomeIsHome View PostAlso, and I don't know because I don't keep up on basketball as much as I probably should, but the walkaround guy on on the mic tonight was awesome! He is the guy running timeout contests on the court. He has been there.Originally posted by FOTY View Post

And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

I recall Jeremy Morgans freshman season. He would often get whistled for dumb fouls. I think it's just a freshman thing. Noah has a great upside and he'll grow into a role.Originally posted by UNI Ka-Bullseye View PostCarter solid minutes, 3 of 4 fouls were totally ticky tack.
