  • Game 15 - Indiana State

Will be interesting to see how this game shakes out. Interestingly enough, I believe ISUb is still our best NET opponent in MVC play right now. Would love to see some other guys get some offensive game going. Always fun to watch these guys. Go panthers!

For some reason, maybe Spencer being out, I felt nervous about the Bradley game, but we pulled it out.

For some reason I'm feeling pretty good about tomorrow night. Hopefully Trae will get his form back. Same with Z.

Would like a team effort win. The UNI Fightin' AJs was cool, but I'll take a casual 15 from him and 10 to 5 from everyone else.

I, too, despise the best player in program history playing like the best player in the league as a sophomore.

If AJ is going to shoot 47% from the field and 53% from 3, I want him with the ball all the time.

Since the West Virginia game AJ is averaging 24.5 a game.

Sevelev loves AJ. It's not a crazy concept to hope for more out of the supporting cast. I'm not putting my money on AJ being able to repeat that every game, no matter how great he is.

Indiana State is a dangerous team, especially offensively with Key and Barnes, they can really score on you. Have to ramp up defensively and rebound the ball. Going to be a tough battle tonight.

We are 7.5 favorites which seems like way to many points.

I don't disagree but to scheme to go away from him would be foolish at this point.

How did you get that from what he said?

AJ is like a victory safety net. Seemed like everyone had a bad game Sat night. Except AJ. We missed a bunch of layups. Nobody hit 3s.
But AJ scores a bajillion points while double teamed (seemed like half the time). Yes we want everyone to be scoring. Because 1) we want to win by lots of points 2) we don’t want to use the safety net every night.

I'm not sure he was saying go away from AJ but rather not always just rely on him EVERY game. Yes, he should shoot the ball, lots. Yes, he is and will continue to be our biggest offensive threat. However, teams will eventually find a way to guard him and we need others to be an offensive threat as well so he gets some breathing room.

Just to beat the horse to a pulp, if Trae can get hot again from 3 and Isaiah can get some offensive game in regularly (along with others), there's not a chance a team can effectively guard all those guys at the same time. However, if everyone else is cold but AJ, we've got less weapons and more pressure on AJs shot.

Agreed, except that we also don't win that game without Tywhon. That was the Ty of old. His rebounding is another piece of the puzzle.

I'm hoping all of our starters have 35 tonight.
