Good work grinding it out and making free throws. Didn’t feel like our best performance but nice to be able to get a W even when you don’t play well. A win on Saturday would be huge, but we’ll probably need more guys on their A or B game than we’ve had the last couple games.

Also had three freshmen on the court at the same time for an extended period today after a rough start to the half and it seemed to work.

Awesome win. Indiana State is very good. That was a tough battle that we found a way to grind through. Havent seen a team play defense on a player like ISU did on AJ tonight in a long time. He we being doubled before he caught the ball.

Really good job defensively and awesome job on the boards.

I love the way Trae adapted his game and drove to the hoop tonight. He hasn't had an open three the last few games, and this will help. He is showing some athleticism that will payoff. It was great to see Phyfe contribute tonight, and Green did exactly what he should in a game where they were not going to let him beat them. Kimmons and Betz gave an unexpected lift in the 2nd half, mainly Betz.

I agree Betz played well, and it was great to see him out there...but if I remember one play correctly, Antwon drove and drew the defenders and made a nice pass to a wide open Betz under the hoop. I thought our driving and dishing was key last night, we had many nice easy looks from 2 (a few dunks!). We even missed a handful of bunnies I dont think will happen regularly.

Kimmons is fearless and I love it. He can really change how the offense looks when he can get by his man. Even at his height, he showed he can finish at the rim last night. Then a possession or two later, he draws the D to him and has a crafty pass for a wide open Betz layup.
To avoid confusion - my username is baseball (Cy Young award) related, NOT for the Cyclones.

Seems like Coach is thinking, If we're going to give up a dozen points every second half, might as well let the freshmen do it and get some experience.

One thing the Raptors did that was very similar to the Kimmons drive and dish to Betz/Phyfe/Dahl was to drive and if FVF got a double team he would toss it to B/P/D over the second defender. Almost the same motion as the layup, but backwards to the following big. That would be tough to defend. Kimmons just needs to recognize if he's getting the double or not. Kimmons is still riding that learning curve!

I'm also really liking Carter out there! Lot of potential on this team!

Gone are the McCloud days where every drive ended in a turnover or block.

Kimmons really seems to know how to create space for his shot when he drives on bigger dudes. Something the team has completely lacked since Washpun. Very refreshing

Nice game, but still waiting on Mudra's analysis!

Lol. We won so don't count on it. There's nothing to critically talk about in his mind when we win.

I know Coach already said it wouldn’t happen, but does this game officially end the speculation that Betz redshirts? This is his 10th game played, and is game 15 of 30 scheduled regular season games. Thresholds are 30% of games and not in 2nd half of season to be eligible for a medical redshirt (not sure how non-D1 and postseason games factor into that). Plus there’s the minor detail of actually having an injury or illness.

He is no longer eligible. Also, had it come to that, an illness isn't hard to get documented.

Matchups to use him are really favorable for the next week.
