Indiana State is fascinating to me. The guy they brought in played the 2nd fastest tempo in D2 and we know what pacing looks like in the Valley, it'll be interesting to see if he can get any traction trying to speed teams up. Outside of Missouri State, and maybe Illinois State, I don't think he's going to find anybody willing to run with him. Tyreke Key also came back so I think they might be a little better than anticipated. I've got them 6th preseason.

So it looks like we've announced the full schedule, but still may add two games? Nothing that wasn't previously known.

And it's missing at least 3, if not 4, games. There is absolutely no way we're only playing 27 games and there have to be more than 12 home games or you're going to have an enraged season ticket base.Originally posted by Wxcpanther View PostThe schedule has been out for just short of a week, and it hasn't been tweeted about yet. This is absolutely insane.
The incompetence continues to absolutely astound.

I will give partial benefit of the doubt assuming they are waiting on D2/D3 or something but yea...Originally posted by BCPanther View Post

Meanwhile Drake just had a Hoopfest tweet for Downtown Des Moines...

I'm sure we'll add at least 3, but it's really hard for us to get games season after season. We're just going to have to settle for 3 lower division ones. We'll probably be seeing Coe, Luther, and Wartburg. The only reason Arkansas gave us a one and done is they're pre-season top 10 level.

At this point, add non-DIs on 11/22 or 23 and 12/11 and be done.
Though I have a sneaking suspicion there's one more DI game coming on 12/11 or 12 and they'll push one of the non-DIs to 12/29 or 30.
Seriously though, we've played incredibly difficult schedules in the past but this one might be the toughest.

Man I'm excited for this season. I know it's been mentioned an awful lot here, but if we could market this team at all it would be huge. There are going to be a lot of fun games at McLeod this year. Covid obviously creates some issues as far as attendance, but it really would be awesome to see that place rocking for this team.

Just did some poking around on that weekend of Dec 11/12. If we're going to add a game (and I have no inside info) there appear to really be 4 options where you could see it happening without making some kind of giant stretch. 3 of them I like, the 4th, well, meh.
Buffalo
Miami (OH)
Ohio
Western Illinois
The only one I don't really like is Western Illinois because they've been pretty bad pretty much forever. The caveat there is that Rob Jeter is now the HC there and we played Milwaukee routinely when he was there.
The 3 MAC schools are all perfectly acceptable opponents to start H-H's with provided they start here. Strangely enough there are pretty strong connections to all of them
Jim Whitesell is the HC at Buffalo and we played Loyola several times when he was HC there before they got into The Valley. Tra'Von Fagan from Waterloo who played at Cedar Falls is on that roster as well.
Saul Phillips is the HC at Ohio and he and Jake were on Mac's staff together the one year that Mac was at NDSU before he took the UNI job.
Jeff Rutter is the associate head coach at Miami (OH). He was on Mac's staff here from 03-06 and followed Mac to Iowa State where he was on staff with Erik Crawford. He was also the interim HC at Drake when they fired Phelps or Giacolletti or Kanaskie or Rudy Washington, I don't know they all kind of run together...

I think we have the depth as long as the injury doesn't rhyme with Green or Phyfe. But ideally no injuries....Originally posted by sevelev711 View PostMan I really hope we can show out for this schedule. We should be able to, but even just one key injury and this becomes a very rough time.

I vote in favor of this one, he was a friend from high school and it'd be cool to see him playing in the McLeod Center.Originally posted by BCPanther View PostJust did some poking around on that weekend of Dec 11/12.
