That Bonnies game is going to be a difficult scout if we play them early in the year. They’ll have 5 new guys compared to this year.

We're going back on the road with Richmond? Was that a 3/4 year deal or is this a different deal?

2022 will be the 3rd game of a 4 year H-H. They come back here in 2023.

True. But we will also very likely only start one starter from this years game

Any word on that Boise State series? I thought I had read somewhere that we were trying to get that set back up with them after it got cancelled last year due to COVID.

Also, do we know yet, will the MVC schedule be 20 games, or a full 22 game round robin format? Either way, it will be nice to have those extra games and hopefully not have to scratch and claw so hard to fill the non-conference schedule every year. It would be great if the MVC could set up another "challenge" series with either the A10 or MWC. BracketBusters coming back would also be fantastic, but I won't hold my breath on that.

League is going to 20 (9 Double Plays, 2 Singles) with the first 3 or 4 played in early December.

Last I knew, they were still hopeful that a Boise series could be rescheduled but there's nothing final.

                November/December idea here...

                Wyoming/UNI, Creighton/Minnesota double-header at the Sanford Pentagon.

                Or...

                Wichita/UNI, Creighton/Missouri in Kansas City.

If AJ comes back for his senior year do you think there is any chance we can get Iowa State on the schedule with Kyle there?

I would bet there's a better chance of AJ playing FOR Iowa State (slim) than us playing against them (none).

Oh wouldn’t that be a nut punch for him to use his last year of eligibility playing for his dad.
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

We'll have better numbers with games vs. Belmont and Murray, but we still have the dregs of UIC, Illinois State, Indiana State, Valpo, and Evansville. So, 7 good teams and 5 bad to poor ones in the MVC.

I could see Indiana State improving with Schertz. I think he's been impressive. There could be some coaching turnover between Illinois State, Valpo, and Evansville. UIC fans seem to like their coach. There is some thought that they could make a fairly quick climb in performance similar to Loyola because of their market.

Valpo and ISU are the really tricky ones for me. Valpo should've beat Loyola in Chicago. They really do have some talent. Illinois State is another one that has had really close battles with Wisconsin and Drake among others. Sy Chatman was playing very well before he tore his ACL and Reeves is a really good player.

I'd be surprised if Muller is back after this year, I guess. He has been given a very long leash, but it just hasn't come together. I think Lickliter is showing who he really is. They were a nice story last year when he came in to clean up the mess, but their talent level compared to the rest of the league is significantly less.

It's a weird league. I really don't know what else to say. That's what makes it so great.

Throw in Missouri State, who for years always seems to attract talent but can never put it together. They had a big guy a few years ago (name escapes me) who was touted as a first round draft pick. Their team, and he, sucked that year.

Hell, go back to the 80s. Wichita St had Antoine Carr, Xavier McDaniel, Greg Drielling, Aubrey Sherrod, etc. on the SAME TEAM. Had to be the most talented mid major team ever, if not top few. Carr and McDaniel were really good/all star level NBA players, and Drielling was good enough to make a roster. That Wichita St team didn’t get beyond the Sweet 16 if I remember correctly.

Alize Johnson. He's bounced from team to team, but he did get drafted and has had some production.
