Tis the season, and already saw some news in another thread, so thought it was time to create the thread for 2025.
Who are we losing and who are we going after this year?

Probably being naive, but I don't see any of our guys leaving. Leon has already transferred once, and chose us. Trey is a local kid that is doing awesome, Pock will finally have playing time open up with Ty graduating. Benny already transferred and chose us. Outside of end of bench guys that don't play leaving, I don't see any obvious candidates that would make a ton of sense.

I agree. I'm sure I'll regret this, but I think UNI has a lot of players who are best suited for the level they are at now.

I would like to believe that is all true, but there are so many different factors and those are different for every individual. Plus, I will never be surprised by the decisions of 18-21/22 year olds.

          Wes Rubin seems obvious.

Schweiger is rock solid coming back and Campbell seems obvious.

The rest? You never know but I think we're in pretty good shape.

Wes & Pock seem like logical departures

Those are the two to keep an eye on, for sure. I am not sure what Pock's minutes will look like with Jalen Wilson coming in. I wouldn't blame him if he decided to go to Missouri State or something. That would allow us to go get another PG, but I would be more than happy to have e both guys back next year.

I hope we keep the top 3 and then whatever happens happens

nothing either way will particularly surprise me though

Whatever the heck happens, we definitely need someone to find their rhythm from 3 or get someone who can. We had a few games that we shot well from 3, but that was one of our biggest issues this season.

Completely agree. Our overall % was really solid, but we really shot threes almost exclusively wide open and in rhythm. If we had some guys who could get their own or shoot a contested one or come off screens and put serious pressure on the defense it would open so many more things up for us.

This is obviously all talk unless someone leaves, but I'm pretty confident there will be at least a couple departures. It's just the nature of the game.

It's pretty clear to me that Jake coaches this offensive instinct out of his recruits. He doesn't want these type of shots. He wants manufactured looks by certain players. IMO this is why we rarely have rhythm shooters. Not because we don't have those players, but because the offense (coaching) doesn't prefer it.
*AJ was obviously an exception to this

I honestly just don't think we have found the guy. Bowen was kind of that guy his freshman and sophomore years until injuries took over, but we had Trae with AJ. We have had Bohannon. We just don't have that guy on this roster. If he's there, I'm confident Jake would utilize them in that fashion. I think it's on the staff to find one and lock them down.

Illinois State got Chase Walker a new truck today. Maybe there's a chance they hold him?

It's worth a shot on their part. He has seemed the more likely to go between him and Kinziger. Isn't NIL fun?!

Are we currently at the scholarship limit if nobody leaves? 3 incoming freshmen plus Campbell, Schweiger, Bond, Taylor, Weisbrod, Hornseth, Pock, Rubin, Courbat, Born? I haven't thought about this is a while, but I believe Born was 4 for 5 (although they pulled his redshirt this year) and Courbat was on/off scholarship due to team needs.
