Same core of a 10-10 team with a coach that hasn't proven anything and has flat been embarrassed by Jake, Wardle and Alexander over and over.

There's also zero depth behind Walker in the post.

    Over. Baked.

I don't think anybody would have reacted much at all to a loss on the road to NW, there is little shame in that, but getting run by 35 and giving up 100 is setting off the alarms. That is concerning.

Reports were ISU got crushed on the boards and really struggled to shoot it. Two things that are pretty important to win games.

They also think Landon Wolf might be their best perimeter defender. Yikes.

Illinois crushed them in another exhibition game by a similar margin.

So..preseason games carry the same weight as spring training games. And context does matter --- were playing like they plan to this year or did they say "score be damned, we're only doing Zone defense in 2nd half and focus on switching off,"...or "everyone 15 minutes of court time no matter what" .and so on. Just running plays and bodies.

However, with the hype and optimism placed on them early, you'd kind of not want back-to-back blowouts for the sake of confidence.

Which brings up an interesting question, what's worse for a mid-major in exhibitions? A blowout to a low or average P6 school or a close loss to a DIII?

They should get used to losing to teams in purple anyhow

That could've been a great win to tack on for the MVC. Bummer.

Murray does what they should against Omaha and wins 85-77.

Drake and NAU tip off in a little over half an hour.

Drake down 3 at the half to NAU.

They're pretty soft. They've got to toughen up, quick.

South Dakota got knocked off by Utah Tech in OT last night. I know it was just an exhibition but we tied South Dakota, so I don’t love seeing that.

Also, our upcoming opponent, Cal State Northridge took care of business against Nobel University 99-58. I watched a decent amount of the game against my better judgment. Their announcer made several Die Hard puns for their German center. They are definitely an athletic team with good size and liked to play fast in transition. We can’t come out flat Thursday night because they will jump on us.

I'm not sure Nobel College of the NCCAA is a great measuring stick but i guess they did what they should against a lower-level opponent. Nobel did exceeded their season average of points per game from last year (55) against csun by putting up 58.

You never know with the type of roster turnover we see these days but CSUN has won 41 games the last two years so they're doing something right. Pretty long history of mediocrity previous to 23-24 though.
