Exactly, and it looks like they will have a fair amount coming back next year.

But what exactly could they have expected? I don't know HOW you can agree with that thinking. No way in hell were they going to be matched up with Butler or Utah State. With those two teams out of the picture, we are the best possible team that they could've been matched up with. End of story!

If they want to come on Panther Nation and ask questions about our team, or give us information about theirs, welcome away. But I don't think we need to feel guilty about not politely welcoming a few posters that came to OUR board, whining about how WE (the UNI Panthers) were not a good enough match up for their team.

The schedule indicates there may have been a 5th, as the Oklahoma game is listed as "ESPN Family of Networks." In any case, if you think national TV exposure isn't something you (like UNI) aren't badly in need of....

Dude- you appear to have an attitude. I’m not saying Siena is Duke with every game on national TV. You missed the Okie State game ( ESPNU) all the games in Orlando were televised . In addition most of the country saw the Kansas game and Siena has had a few games on MSG( which I assume most of the county gets) You made it sound like Siena never gets on national Television. Depending on if and how many games Siena plays in the NCAA’s this year Siena could end up on national TV 15 or more games over a two year period. Not sure how things go out there- but for this part of the country that’s pretty good exposure for a mid major

I noted that the Okie game may have been on TV, and the "Orlando" games are included in the list I provided. MSG is regional, not national coverage, much like the MVC gets in the midwest, and there was only one MSG game. The Kansas game was on "TW3" which, whatever it is, isn't available nationally. We're not far from Kansas, and that game wasn't available here.

You claimed 7 national TV appearances, that was incorrect, as I have proven.

I said Siena, much like UNI, doesn't get many national TV appearances, and neither of us are in a position to turn them down or cry about them. I suppose you could interpret "doesn't get many" or "get very few of" to mean "doesn't get any," but you'd have to disregard the meaning of words to get there.

You have to understand this. There was a chance for Siena to host an AP Top 25 team. Thats the only frustration. It would've caused a great stir for publicity sake, since top 25 teams won't come to Albany, NY unless they are forced to. Butler and Utah St. had the distinct possibility of that honor. The publicity might have been enough to get close to 17,000 fannies in the seats ( this only happens on rare occasions, unfortunately), so therein lies the only dissapointment.

The true basketball fans in Albany know that the MVC is a quality conference and to have the MVC leader coming into town is a good opportunity for both to state their cases to the NCAA selection committee in March. Personally, after sizing everything up, it is a game that the committee will look at closely when deciding on the potential at-large possibilites. MVC usually gets close looks at the at-large bubble, the MAAC doesn't. This game is very big for Siena, certainly another notch if they get a W.

BTW, it was earlier in this thread someone noted this site:http://www.fullysports.com/basketball/2009/nitty

Great site. Lots of Info. And probably a great deal of what the NCAA mulls over is here. Thanks, added it to my favorites. Good luck for the rest of your conference season.

You have to understand, there was no chance of that happening. This is like UNI being upset we weren't set to Davidson. Those particular match-ups were no-brainers.

No, most of the country did NOT see the Kansas game and NO, most of the country does NOT get MSG (that's a regional New York network).

Do you guys get CFU channel 17? I assumed most of the country did . . .

This I agree with. Thank you for explaining yourself in a non-arrogant way.

I would agree with you until St. Mary's lost Patrick Mills and then lost badly to Portland. St. Mary's won't have Mills for the bracketbuster or for the rest of the regular season. St. Mary's at-large possibility is tenuous at best now. So based on the same reason N. Iowa/Siena game was paired , the chance of Utah St/Siena was what Siena fans were thinking. Obviously, when all was said and done ESPN was not going to award that game, probably because Siena failed miserably in the Old Spice classic.

Just asking relief for what would appear to be looking down at N. Iowa. Liken it to getting turned away by Jessica Alba , but later told that Alyssa Milano will be your date. You get over the snub real quick.

Dude can you count? I said 7 National games

3 in Orlando, Pittsburg, Rider, BB and Niagara- that’s seven national appearances. ( this year so far) What part of that are you having trouble comprehending?

You still have six. You're assuming the BB game is a national broadcast. It might be, it probably will be, but it's not yet certain.

Some games designated as TV games will appear on ESPN360.com, not on ESPN2/U.

Tony is correct, it would be their 7th game, if indeed it happens.
