Good news: Our press is working
Bad news: We are pressing and it's not even halftime

Just thought I'd let everyone know that the pep band will be playing for all home basketball games this year, beginning with the Men's and Women's exhibitions against Briar Cliff and Upper Iowa and continuing throughout the non-conference/conference slate. While this comes at the expense of having a volleyball pep band this year, I for one am very excited that this change was made!

Great move! The McLeod Center rocks when there it's a big pep band! Improves atmosphere 10 fold!

while a pep band at the vb matches vs. MSU, WSU, and Creighton would have been nice additions to the atmosphere, the band probably makes a better contribution at basketball so I understand the tradeoff.

Glad to hear this. Must not have given the band the full home schedule as I have missed them at the last two home games.

Of course some of the team might not have had last nights game on the schedule either....

                      No band again today.

I like how "all home games" apparently means "less than half of the home games".

Have classes started back yet? I would guess that has something to do with it.

                          Classes come back Monday.

I am primarily at women's volleyball & basketball games, and I'm sure I can count the pep band's total game attendance (when I've been around) on one hand. I won't pretend to how our the pep band organization works, but I am surprised how little we see them. Even during school breaks, I'd hope we'd at least have a dozen or so students that live close enough to make even a smaller pep band feasible. Regardless of the setup and any politics, I'd simply like to see a pep band more often.

It is beyond frustrating to me.
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."
