Re: George Mason = Straight outa the hood
Hard to argue that there were not racist comments being made when we have a thread like this one on our message board.
I think they are over reacting to "booing an injured player" I think it was pretty obvious that we were booing the refs for stopping play. After the throwing up incident, I was beside myself that GM was not charged a time out. Something that sure came in handy at the end of the game when we started pressing. If the kid is throwing up because he has a concussion or another injury then he shouldnt be playing. If he is throwing up because of lack of conditioning or sickness, then he should not be playing.
As for the "interlude" being over-rated. Of all the articles, blogs, media coverage, etc. That is the first time I have seen anything remotely negative written about the dance. I think it is obvious that the blogger, I wouldn't call him a writer, got his feelings hurt.
To argue that the game wasn't called conistently and the GM team was not playing dirty basketball is rediculous but if the refs are letting them get away with it, why should they stop? There was a lot of jersey grabbing and muggery that was never called against them and a tremendous amount of pitty-pat calls that were blown against us. NO QUESTION!!
They are a good team and I think the better team won. Good luck to them the rest of the way.
Bottom line, it is never fun to read that someone had a bad experience at our place. That is the first and hopefully the last time I have to read something like that.
P.S. Dancing on the other team's logo instead of shaking hands doesn't help the argument that the GM team is classless. I am not calling them classless just saying that the dancing thing doesn't help their argument.
I have always respected their coach and their basketball tradition. There was a lot of emotions running high that night, that is for sure.
