I'm going to go ahead and say it - I didn't think Michigan St was that good last year either. If they don't pull off a .500 record in the Big 10, you cannot convince me they deserve an at-large.

Dont' worry they will get in. I loved the quote from Jay Bilas the other day. "We have 68 teams now, the selection panel is going to find it hard to find 68 teams that deserve to be in the tournament. Its a lot of teams and the BCS conferences are going to get rewarded by the expanded field."

Then a little later they did compare team A and team B. One was a BCS school and the other was a mid-major. The RPI's werent close or the SOS. But the BCS team had a record of 15-11 and the mid major team had a record of 21-8. I mean come on, the mid major had a winning record in their conference, the BCS team did not.

I personally think the NCAA needs to put a winning record clause in the tournament. If you have a .500 record in your conference fine you are in, but if you are below the .500 mark within your conference sorry its the NIT for you. The Big East there is going to be teams with losing records within their conference in the tournament. That is pretty sad if you ask me.

Even the appearance of booing an injured player is classless. Period. Maybe none of you here meant it that way (I'm willing to believe you didn't), but the fact that you're in the position of trying to defend it means something happened that shouldn't have happened. Trying to excuse it doesn't make you look better, it only makes you look like you think it was ok. My advice? Stop defending it, and let it die.

Hateful and racist comments were made by a small number of UNI fans, directed towards a well-respected Mason blogger and his young family. Said blogger offered his personal perceptions based upon a bad experience that he had in Panther Nation. Whether you let that rub off on the rest of you, or whether you rise above it, is up to you guys. Is it the Mason fan's fault that he encountered the rotten apples in your fanbase? Does he deserve to have his impressions reinforced by receiving hateful email? How on earth does flaming him for reporting his bad experience help anyone? It just makes the rest of you look like equal jerks to the ones who spoiled Josh's visit.

If any of you make the trip out in two years, hit up our boards and we'll make sure you have a good experience in the Fairfax "hood".

I was going to reply further (like pointing out that Mason's Academic Progress Rate for MBB is higher than UNI's --- very hood, eh?), but after reading all this @#$%, I'm not going to try. Someone lock this thread. Dear goodness. I hate to think what would have happened if you all had played VCU.

Yeah, this thread is unnecessary. Let's move on. Instead of butting heads, we need to realize that schools like George Mason and UNI should support each other.

That was my point, watching it on TV you miss out on things you see live. Even though it was on tv I still managed to miss the gut punches on screens, the trash talk to your players and the instigating. I didnt see any of our guys in your faces, or pushing after the whitsle or anthing. Unless again you take handchecks and physical play and mean that is instigating. It was my impression that Mike Mo and one of your players were talking and laughing with one another. I was trying to say watching them for four years and never witnessing things that you are accusing, and then all of a sudden they are doing them is a little far fetched. You werent down there on the court to hear what they were saying, or doing. It is your perception that they were doing all that. If they were so dirty and all these things went on, how come your coach or any of your players said nothing. It is just a few bitter fans.

But whatever you need to do to fulfill your opinion that they were dirty and your were cheated out of a win so you can sleep at night go ahead and do it.

Your posts do not bring anything productive or logical to the conversation. You start by thinking we were bush league but not thuggish and thinking the OP is dumb, and then giving us some props and the slowly change it to we ARE thugs, dirty, and classless. None of the accusations bring anything concrete to support them. When asked what was dirty somebody said: jersey tugging, handchecks, bumping, and armbars and sleeper holds. So lets throw out the dramatics and that leaves us with bumping, jersey grabbing and handchecks. If things like that are your barometer for dirty play maybe you should open your eyes and actually watch basketball. It happens everywhere by every team even your own. To think your team does not handcheck or bump is naive and a true homer opinion.

One thing I distinctly remembered from Mason's great run 5 years ago, was one of their star guards blatantly punching a guy in the balls during a game near the end of the season.

Though, I was rooting for them while they made that great run, it did temper my enthusiasm a bit.

GMU fans, thank you for being as classy as you have been. This thread should die a rapid death because it is going nowhere fast. Every fanbase sees things through their team color glasses and that won't ever change no matter how much energy is put into trying to change it. I am disappointed that UNI lost but not unhappy that GMU won, if that makes sense. I am a GMU fan until we meet again at your place. No kidding, your reading comprehension is laughable. I never told you what you saw. I explained what I saw. Maybe that is why we dont get eachother were not understanding what each is saying. You go back and say where I tell you what you saw. My bad, I just assumed that was your next step calling them thugs. Maybe you should comprehend what I wrote before you fire back some more ish. I guess that is what it comes down to. You see the game that was played one way and I see it another. It is what it is, and lets move on neither of us will budge. Ill welcome you guys when you make the return trip, and dont worry there wont be any racial slurs tossed around or anything like that, but once you leave the Pat dome I cant guarantee your safety in the "hood" of Fairfax VA .

So did you hear the racial slurs on tv? Were you down close enough to the floor to hear any racial slurs? Also, show me a post where someone claims we lost because of the other teams dirty play or the refs. I don't think anyone hear claimed they were cheated out of a win as you claim.

You should find a hobby or a job or something and give this message board a rest.

The title alone is offensive. I can only imagine what current and future recruits would think when reading this.

Also, it would hopefully end this nonsensical banter that is currently happening.
