So we have to travel 2,000+ miles to finally have a chance to have a game with Minnesota?

      Re: Battle 4 Atlantis 2012

Probably the biggest event UNI has ever been in (including the NCAA tournament) I am joking of course about the NCAA but it is still a heck of a deal for us.

Read somewhere that Louisville withdrew from Maui to join this field. Will be a tremendous opportunity for a team that has potential to be very good

Harvard won the tourney this year. I had to read that twice.

I know that is next year but wow, what a prime time line up! I would not be surprised to see those games televised ESPN prime time.

I have family that takes a cruise down there almost every year, and family that graduated from Louisville (and lives in the area and goes t many games).....

A family trip might get planned.

what is the tourney format? are we guaranteed a certain number of games?

Hopefully we don't get stuck playing VCU.

Everyone plays 3 games. Winners bracket and losers bracket format.

From looking at this years bracket it looks like they paired the games so that you would have the best/most popular semi and final. The field wasn't as strong this year as it will be next, but teams the bottom four (or smallest schools) got paired against the better/more popular opponents. Based on this I'd say that UNI, VCU, Stanford, and Missouri or Minnesota will be the bottom "seeds". I'd say there's zero chance that UNI and VCU will play each other seeing how they are the "quote" smallest/weakest teams in the field. Potential Duke or Louisville 1st round is looking most likely.
