CO-has a lot of potential on the offensive end, looked better than what i thought he would be at after reading what people had to say about his conditioning. his D was pretty good as well. interested to see how he stands up against some good competition.

Buss- this kid in my opinion could be the leading scorer on this team or close to it, even if he is coming off the bench. he is a shooter and a good one. he plays D well and you can tell he understands the game well.

AP- Same old thing. needs to learn how to use that HUGE frame and back people down.

Singleton- i dont see him doing much for this team this year. he still looks somewhat lost on the court. he seemed to lag a bit on D and was late to the ball.

Bohannon- kid will be a big time shooter as most people already expected. plays decent D.

Morrison- unfortunately i dont think he will see the court often. once AJ comes back his playing time will decrease of course. with how well i expect Buss to play as well as Bohannon and Deon he shouldnt be seeing much of the court. he still will provide some important minutes as he did last year in some games.

Martino- Same quality player he was last year. plays good D and has the ability to make some big shots.

Deon, jake, seth, Mark- we already know what we have with these guys

overall thoughts- this team has soooo much upside. the thing i like most about them is the ability to have a real inside out game. our bigs should allow for doubles and a lot of open 3's. this team often has relied a lot on the 3's but this team has some real good inside play potential. Tuttle is a beast of course and will bang down low. CO seems to have some good offensive potential down low. Jake of course provides a some good low post ability. with those 3 this team can pound the ball down low and dish out when necessary. with some small fill in time from AP and Singleton we should have no problem in the post. we already know what we have from the perimeter. AJ, Bohannon, mark, and Buss are going to be killers from outside.

how i see the lineup is deon, jake, seth, mark, and probably AJ with Bohannon (who could start) and Buss/Rank picking up big minutes off the bench. next group i see CO, Martino, Morrison picking up the next group of minutes. the last group of guys who will get playing time here and there should be AP and Singleton. A TON of depth on this team!

I did not see the same thing watching CO. To me, he looked way too raw, confused (both offensively and defensively), and just out of control really. The talent is there, but he has a long way to go if he wants to make a significant impact on this team IMO.

I don't see how anyone could think that Morrison will not get minutes. He is already a proven veteran player. He is our #2 PG and will get plenty of minutes. He proved himself last year.

Martino has the ability to "make some big shots"? Doesn't he have like 10 career points? I don't know if I have ever seen him hit a jumper...

Re: Up Next: Briar Cliff & Northern State

the word "potential" was used, he played ok on the offensive end and all i was getting at is he has some possible big upside. If you watched the 2nd half his D was good. my question to you is do you really think AP offers more than CO and ends up playing more?

with regards to Morrison im not sure how you can see him getting a ton of minutes. i dont doubt he wont play in key moments as i stated that, but i just see Bohannon playing more and taking away minutes from him. im not sure what you are getting at by saying he is the #2 PG. we only have 2 "true" (i use true loosely because i think of him as more of a SG) PG's, him and deon. if you list the guards you have AJ, Deon and Mark. to add to that i feel like there is no question Bohannon is already thought of to be better.

My point behind Martino is he should see the court because of his D giving him the opportunity to make a big shot here or there....

Morrison and Bohannon do totally different things. Morrison is going to get a bunch of minutes and has earned every single one of them.

Looks like Northern State went 13-13 last year. As PTTB said in another thread, they did beat beat Butler but lost to us and Purdue by about 20 and 30, respectively. My quick check told me that they graduated 1 contributor, a guard. They play in Aberdeen, a town of 26k, which is located in NE SD, not far from the North Dakota border. Enrollment is about 4k. Aberdeen seems to be a bit of a baseball factory, as Rollie Fingers, Justin Duchscherer, and Terry Francona are all from there. Other famous former residents include L. Frank Baum (author of The Wizzard of Oz) and the guy who started the Super 8 motel chain there.

5:30 tip off? Should be on Panthervision, right?

Same starters tonight as last week. Still no AJ as he isn't suited up again.

And a new era of UNI basketball is upon us as the pep band is here in full force.

Re: Up Next: Briar Cliff & Northern State

there is no audio because they don't have radio for the exhibition games. UNI doesn't look too good early on.

I'ts been a long time since there has been radio coverage of any kind for Exhibition games. I'm just happy there is video.

Northern State is much more fired up, as you would expect.

15-13 UNI with 9:14 to go. Number 24 for NSU is just all over Koch it seems like.

I don't see what Jake has against Buss. He's shown that he can be a good offensive player, and his defense doesn't seem to be that bad, but there was two full rotations before he was brought in.
