Best case scenario, IMO, we have a 3 or a 6 seed and, if we can win two times the first weekend, avoid the #1 seed until the Elite8.

Re: Virginia - Jesperson could just tell us all of their plays. We'd be one step ahead all the time. It's essentially Mighty Ducks (us) vs. the Hawks (UVA) and he's Adam Banks.

It appears, that if I am reading this correctly, that we are currently the second best #4 seed behind Louisville. Could present interesting matchup with Maryland (Turgeon) followed by Iowa State. Here's to Louisville, Notre Dame & North Carolina losing some games.

I agree TiC. Here would be my recommended losing list (in addition to UNI winning games) if you want to see UNI in Omaha:

Maryland
Louisville
Notre Dame
North Carolina
Iowa State

What about Baylor?

I have a feeling they would just kill us on the boards. Did anyone else see Marvin destroy Missouri St on that one possession? Like 3 straight offensive rebounds to himself? That's Baylor but with guys 3-4 inches taller. That team kills it on the glass in the Big XII and I'd be afraid of our ability to extend our possessions or get into transitions. I don't think they are anything great beyond that though. Pretty good D but very average O

When we are on we are very methodical and get open looks. Hit 40% from deep, that softens their rebounding and we beat Baylor.

Watching a little of Virginia tonight, I thought that whoever beats them needs to take some long range 3's and then play solid defense. It wouldn't take that many points to beat them. Those points are just really hard to come by.

I've seen Wisconsin play live once this year, and will back up what others have said. They are an offensive rebounding powerhouse. Kaminsky is basically a poor man's Dirk Nowitski with his ability to make plays either driving or shooting from the perimeter. He'll be a really tough matchup for just about anyone they play. Their PF Decker is really good too, and athletic.

That would be a very very boring sweet 16 game of we played UVA or it would be high scoring. I remember a game (maybe vs SIU 2006?) where both UNI and the other team were the top defensive teams in the conference and somehow the game was in the 70s I want to say after predictions were in the 50s or first to 60 wins.

Unfortunately, that didn't work out as well for us last year. Having Paul on the floor might make a difference.

In 04-05, we lost at Southern 76-69 after beating them at home 67-61. 05-06, we won in OT at home 71-65 and lost 46-45 in C-Dale. 06-07 (when SIU was robbed against Kansas in the Tourney) we won 66-61 at home and lost 56-54.

SIU was not robbed in that game. KU lead wire to wire. It only kind of got close near the end.
