There is just no way to make it for an 8:00pm tip on a Wednesday.

I will say this, my boys have fallen in love with Seth Tuttle and Wes Washpun. My youngest tries to spike his hair with gel (he is a four year old pasty white kid) on game days and wants to be Wes for halloween. My oldest (seven) thinks that Seth is the second coming of Jesus. This team has been special to me because two seasons ago we started dragging our boys to basketball games too and they followed it really well and followed along. Our boys have been to 20 games in the last three seasons and my oldest loves when they announce starting line ups and he hears Seths name. I had a lump in my throat Saturday thinking that my son wouldn't hear that again and had no idea...

We now hold season tickets to the Iowa Energy and have already committed to buying season tickets in Cedar Falls next year.
Love that you're buying season tickets next year! I know what you mean about your kids... the more into it my boys get as they get older, the more it means to me, too. I grew up around the program and it's surreal to experience it again with my own kids. Our oldest also loves Seth and Wes, and I'll probably get choked up tonight. Sports are a special thing for those of us that make them a part of our lives. I'm glad our kids have good sports role models to look to so close to home.
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

BAP your last sentence is key...it's the reason UNI sports...especially basketball...is so unique and special to those of us who choose to make it a part of our lives.

WSU has a semi-tough road game at Ind St tonight. There's an outside chance we could clinch a share f the title with a win tonight.

At this point, I'm still going to try to come from Iowa City... Hopefully it's not that bad. REALLY don't want to miss this one.

And our seeding in the big dance takes a hit if they lose. I don't think it makes any sense to wish them to lose before Saturday.
"I think they're very good," Farley said of the preseason top 25 Hawkeyes. "But so are we."

The hit our seeding would take from a WSU loss tonight is so small its insignificant.

Does the "MVC Tv" mean it will be on the Comcast/Fox Sports Midwest channels that have been picking up games throughout the year?

On Direct TV it is listed under the Comcast alternate channels.

So Panther fever is spreading! John Deere allowed employees to wear jeans and Panther gear today. My daughter's school had Panther day. Dropped my son off at preschool (in his Panther sweatshirt of course) and as child after child took off winter coats each one was wearing something Panther, as was the teacher. It takes seasons like this to build that fan base....now if we can keep it going for about 8 or more games this season!!

Wow. Couldn't disagree more. Revenge factor. Senior night. Title/ranking/seed on the line. Absolutely nothing about tonight's game says trap/let down to me. I would be beyond shocked if we didn't come out tonight on a mission.

I've been planning on coming down from the Twin Cities for this one for weeks. And the late start was actually helpful since I have meetings until 2:30.

My heart says screw it and go for it. My head says be smart and its not worth the risk.

Would love it if PNers in the area give weather updates today for us out of towners!!

Yes, I agree. I know I said yesterday afternoon that I was still going to make the trip. At that time it still sounded like Ames/Des Moines would only get about 5 inches of snow and Cedar Falls/Waterloo would get about 1.5-2 inches. Well this morning it looks like Ames/Des Moines will get closer to 8 inches and CF/Waterloo closer to 4-5 inches. Any updates on weather throughout the afternoon would be appreciated.
