Washpun at #99 in cbs mock draft.

"At the bottom of the top 100, there are couple of college seniors I like in Elgin Cook and Wes Washpun. They're both tough, athletic defenders, Cook on the wing and Washpun at the point. They need to work on their shots, but they're solid, speculative D-League-types who could reach the NBA."

Wes could go #2 like Wentz.

Interesting that Paige is #84, Niang #88, Baker #91, Mock #123, Walkup #131, Jok #135.

All of those guys have big issues as NBA prospects. I'm surprised Jok is that low. He couple play himself into a conversation, but that's next year, not now. Paige is a really good college player, but nothing more at this point. Baker, Niang, and Mock probably have more NBA upside than he does, IMO.

Interesting to not see Fred VV in that list.

I believe he's outgrown the NBA...

I haven't looked at the list, but that's surprising. I would think Baker would have more upside, but I didn't watch any of Portsmith or read up on any of the aftermath. #70 means he's borderline to get picked at the end of the second round, just doing the math.

Source: Grizzlies will bring in guard Wes Washpun as part of a Monday group workout. Washpun previously worked out for the Jazz and Hawks.

Europe isn't always as great as it seems. I have read more than one story about how difficult it can be to actually get your paycheck.

Over the years I have heard this theme at least a half dozen times.

"Europe" is a pretty diverse place when it comes to basketball which ranges from great leagues to shams, but yes, you want to do your homework before you sign a contract there.

Generally, I hear that the money is much, much better in most Europe leagues than the NBA D-league (with its microscopic chance at the real NBA that breaks so many hearts).

                              Short Wes mention:
The Draft Combine is now in the books, and its time to see how people are responding to the performances of the players.

I played HS ball with a guy who gave up his pro career in Europe because of things like that. He got fed up with dealing with such things and came home.
