I don't think it should be too hard to tell the legit leagues from the non-legit ones. Leagues that have been operating for years, with big name sponsors, TV coverage, and good fan bases probably aren't going to fold up overnight. Start-up leagues are always risky.

Wes spent some time with the Nuggets last week and will be working out for the Chicago Bulls this week.

Any team would be great, but all 3 of these are driving distance.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls will bring in guard Wes Washpun for workouts this week, per league sources.

Wes is getting a legit look here. Its surprising to me how many workouts that he has landed. I'm not sure Tuttle even had this many last summer and he was a potential late 2nd round draft pick.

Right team, right situation, you never know...

I said the same thing to someone yesterday. I don't remember Seth getting this much hype last summer.
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

Agreed. I think Seth only had two or three total and Wes is up to at least 5.

You just can't teach the athleticism...

How much of this reflects the style of the agent? Washpun's pushes for workouts. Tuttles' didn't. Just asking.

                  Re: Washpun to NBA?

I once heard Blias state that the thinking in the NBA when evaluating talent is "Who do you match up against (on defense)?"

Seth was a tweener - undersized to play down low in the NBA, not quick enough to play outside. Wes has the pure athletic quickness (both in foot speed and jumping ability) to match up well on people. Being left handed is another wrinkle in Wes' favor, as it is one more thing his opponent has to consider.

Found an article that said Tuttle had workouts with the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trailblazers, Milwaukee Bucks, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets and the Magic. (10 teams) He signed as a free agent with the Heat and played in the summer league.

A couple cool reads about Wes and his NBA prospects:

I know nothing about this blogger but the comparison seems sound. With his work ethic I could see Wes being the type of guy that goes from last pick to All Star in 5 years.

He has a great handle on how he can help an NBA team right away and where he has room to develop. He can sell that immediate contribution with lots of potential. Plus he seems like the kind of guy whose infectious personality could rub off in an interview and a team could really take a liking to him and give him a shot.

Frankly I'm not sure Wes FVV or Baker are looking at much more than anot FA deal. I don't think that's a shocking statement to anyone who isn't a hardcore WSU Kool aide drinker though

Whatever, the Bucks just selected Ron Baker. Oh wait, that's Thon Maker.

Whoa, Abdul Nader got drafted late in the 2nd round. Big surprise, but it's a late 2nd round pick, and the Celtics probably figured it's worth a gamble since those guys almost never make it. Good luck to him, hope he defies the odds.
