I think you have to be realistic.Originally posted by MNpanthers View PostWhat were beer prices in the garden? I assume they will stay similar or maybe a buck more
Dissapointing to see no beer in the student section. Coulda been a nice draw for upperclassmen attendance
If you allowed beer in the student section it would be an underage drinking festival.
There's just no way they could do that.
Upperclassman can still drink. They just can't sit in the student section.
Winning is more fun than losing.

Old Dominion and Marshall are both solid. Northern Colorado will probably be picked to win the Big Sky. Cal State Bakersfield has an older group that got better as the year went on and will probably be picked 3rd in the WAC behind NM State and GCU.Originally posted by Waverly_Panther View Post- Not a single non-conference home game to be excited about.
I know none of them are exciting on paper but all should be okay for numbers purposes. Quad 1 & 2 games.
Plus we have the best bunch of nicknames in McLeod Center history. Monarchs, Skyhawks, Roadrunners, Thundering Herd....

I mean sure, it's not Iowa, Iowa State, North Carolina, etc.
But to say there isn't one to get excited about and act like this is a bad schedule is ignoring the value of the programs beyond just "names"

Yea fair enough, I still don't think it would be bad but I get it. Just think underage students have plenty of easier methods to get trashed then spending 6 bucks per beer at a place where it would be really easy to get in huge trouble.Originally posted by Blue42 View Post

I'm pretty certain UMN allows it but thats in a big ten sized stadium and not a small arena.

Does the idea of getting in huge trouble and buying $4 beers and $8 mixed drinks stop them at bars?Originally posted by MNpanthers View Post

They'll already have a fake if that's the case.

Would argue it's much much easier to get away with it at the bars.Originally posted by clenz View Post

I'm bias as a recent grad but college students are all legal adults and the school should show at least a little respect for their maturity to make their own decisions without babying them.
Anyways this is off topic so I'm gonna stop discussing now.

I get what you are saying, but to the average basketball fan, these names aren't selling season tickets. I know there is a huge issue in college basketball scheduling for mid majors, and we're seeing that with this schedule. I'm in the camp that would love to see the MVC in more conference challenges to get some quality games in the the non-con. Also, really hate to see 2 d3 games, which is becoming our norm.Originally posted by BCPanther View Post

I gagged when I saw Luther, but I've become apathetic to our home scheduling issues. It is what it is and I doubt it will get better unless we find consistent success, which just isn't our recipe as of late.Originally posted by Waverly_Panther View Post

As an adult that is now almost a decade out of college - college kids, even upperclassmen - are dumb.Originally posted by MNpanthers View Post

Anyway
on the topic of the schedule
Yeah, lets not get home games - which is what people have *****ed about - let's just whore ourselves out to UNC, Duke, Texas, etc. and play 2 home OOC games but hey, we are playing big names and a tough schedule. Right?

As somebody else said, they can still buy a beer and drink it on the concourse. When I first saw beer was coming, I kind of cringed at the thought of it in a student section. Just seems like it would be a mess. I think this is the perfect way to implement it to be honest. Regardless, adding beer sales isn't going to draw more students imo. It's a draw for the casual fan more than anything.Originally posted by MNpanthers View Post
