Dana is trying to get the most athletic roster combo he can to just out athlete everyone at this level so that he can get out of Sprinfield as fast as he can to get a higher paying job at a bigger name school.

He's not a good X and O coach. He can't scheme for anything. He doesn't really know how to make adjustments. If his guys can't simply out athlete you and/or aren't hitting shots at a high rate they aren't going to win the game.

He doesn't have a system. He doesn't have roles for guys to fill. He simply wants the most athletic kids possible because he, incorrectly, assumes he can out athlete everyone at this level of MM ball and things like team chemistry, rotation management, and systems don't matter.

UNI isn't immune to that though. It wasn't just the last few years there were tons of stories coming out about fractured locker rooms and parent groups related to specific players. You're trying to get groups of 18-22 year old kids from all kinds of various backgrounds to be "best friends" on and off the court, but it doesn't always work. It tends to work more often at places like UNI that focus on the idea of a "family" more than at places that are just building rosters of players.

They are amazing at under achieving every year.

Which, Dana, if you're reading this, that will definitely work. Try it again this year.

        • Elijah Childs out 3-6 weeks for Bradley. Big loss for them. That would almost certainly leave him our the first time we play them (in just shy of 3 weeks), and possibly out the second time (in about 5 weeks) also.

          • Not that I'm ever happy about an injury, but that will certainly make our lone national TV home game a lot easier to win.

I'd almost guarantee our home games against Loyola and Southern are the ones selected as the ESPNU Sunday games.

              • Valpo just lost by 10 on the road to Charlotte and EU getting taken to the woodshed by a 2-7 Jacksonville state team.

                • NIU just choked away what could have been a nice NET boosting road win vs Pitt

                  • Valpo and Evansville are both just awful.

But Liberty and Williams score tons of points and are great players!! /giant fart noise.

                    • Yuck, I thought NIU was going to get a half way decent road win, then they end the game on the wrong side of a 15-0 run. And Evansville, my goodness.

                          Yet somehow won at Kentucky?

DeAndre Williams got a technical and fouled out with just under 15 minutes left in the game. Evansville accidentally had 6 men on the floor and got a technical for that as well. Putting the current state of their basketball team as a trainwreck is putting is very mildly.

Wow, crazy. It will be interesting to see how their season unfolds. Reminds me a little (without the technical fouls) of UNI’s 2015-16 season, with a high profile non-con win early (in UNI’s case, two of them, UNC and ISU), then losing to several teams they had no business losing to in a prolonged midseason swoon (Evansville also lost 3 of 4 games to some no names shortly after the UK win). In the Panthers case, they had some senior leaders step up and help get the season turned back around. We’ll see if the Aces team, coach, and program have the character and perseverance to get through this (I may be biased but I have a guess...)

They're bad. There are no comparisons. They're incredibly poorly coached and have ZERO momentum as a program.
