Andy Katz still has yet to put UNI in his power 36

So many voters look to that as a "check/cheat" for their votes. Their assumption is if Katz doesn't have you in the 36 you aren't worth a vote.

That hurts UNI - and other non major schools.

I didn't expect a huge jump, but expected to add a lot more than 4 votes. Oh well, keep on winning.

Earlier in the season there was more difference between these. Interesting how similar they are now.
    And RPI like 15....

KenPom uses prior seasons data so it takes a while for that to not come into play..

Interesting, he hasn't had us ranked in a while. Might be closer than I expected it to be.

Favorite example of this is during the recent LUC-UNI game, announcers were talking up UNI for the whole dang game, and then they talked about the tournament and harped on the MVC being a one-bid league. Not "it has been recently" or "is trending in that way," "it is a one bid league." And then the funny part is that they brought up the bracket from Lunardi where he had MVC as a two-bid. Dude changed topic quickly.

    That's classic. Beating a 6 win team proves you're a tourney team.

It's pretty clear these days that everyone's got the memo that the new model is to keep the mid-major at large bids to a minimum.

Watching the network studio shows (excluding the sh!$$y B1G network of course) you hardly hear any conversation about what mid-majors could challenge for a spot in the dance and do some damage.

The analysts used to love to talk about that and show who had done their homework. But now it's just stick to the script.

Whats even more disgusting is they are comfortably ahead of us at NET#37.

Purdue is also Kenpom#28 and Barttorvik#22

Yeah we're not gonna get that top 25 this time. Gonna get a lot closer if we go 2-0 next week, though. Go 2-0 the next week and it's close to a guarantee.

MVC has a conference RPI of 11 which isn't bad considering there is pretty much no chance of 2 bids with any conference below us (Liberty with a very slight chance). Also our 2 most comparable conferences of MWC(10th) and WCC(9th) are being held up considerably by SDSU(22-0) and Gonzaga(23-1) as well as the A-10(8th) being held by Dayton(20-2). While I don't want to risk an at large at all, I think the chances of grabbing one aren't far out of reach being a solid mid-major

We still only had 13 votes and 25th was 102 last week. I can't imagine we making up that ground in a week. I'll be happy if we can at least get to the 50-60 vote range.

Rutgers, Houston, and Wichita all took Ls today. All 3 teams are in that 21-25 range on the rankings. Couple that with Colorado losing the other night, this could finally be the week we hit the top 25 boys and girls...just in time for the biggest game of the year!
