The way the MVC looks right now, it's about time to consider that code cracked

The NET seems to take all the “other” measurements into account far more than just wins and losses. Hard to complain about the formula when we don’t know what it is, though.
      The secret ingredient is $$$$
Number of times on Sports Illustrated cover:
Ben Jacobson coached teams = 2
UNI teams coached by everyone ban thinks is better = 0

        100%.

Iowa State is 13th in the NET because they've spent $440k so far on buying teams that they could blow out and they've still got Prairie View A&M, Florida A&M, Eastern Illinois and New Hampshire before league play starts for another $310k.

        • The question is still the machine learning (AI) part of the NET. We really don't know what that's going to do in this system. The idea is to use machine learning to predict NCAA tourney success.

They need a way to compare a teams efficiencies vs one opponent to the average of other teams efficiencies against the same opponent. That way if a team is consistently getting blown out, that's considered the norm and it won't look so lopsided.

            • Our slow start has cost us a national TV opportunity. ESPN selected Drake/Belmont over our game with Indiana State for ESPN2 on Jan 7th.

No one to blame but us.

              • TIME/NETWORK CHANGE JANUARY 14TH----

ESPN has downgraded our game at Murray to ESPN+ and changed the start time to 3:00 for Sunday, Jan 14th.

ESPN has instead selected Drake at Southern Illinois for 7:00 PM on Saturday, Jan 13th to fill that spot.

Hate to lose the national spot but it's totally understandable why ESPN made the decision they made.

It is objectively good for the league that Drake gets that exposure. This way, when we win Arch Madness, Drake still had that positive exposure to maybe help them get in

                  • January 27th Update:

ESPN selects Bradley at Indiana State for ESPN2 or ESPNU which, yeah, Indiana State should get the slot.

MVC-TV selects Southern Illinois at Murray State which makes far less sense but whatever.

Our game at Drake will tip at 5:00 on ESPN+.

Great. Then he can be the condescending ******* that he is on his podcast and Twitter after he leaves town.

Very talented broadcaster. Legitimate human troll.

I enjoy 2 guys named Chris, idk. Hassel can be a little much sometimes, but Van Winkle and Williams do a pretty good job keeping him in check for the most part.

Hassel will undoubtedly find something to complain about.

                            • February 3rd TV Selections--

ESPN2 took Drake at Indiana State (no surprise) for a 5:00 tip
CBS Sports Net took our game in Cedar Falls against Murray for a 1:00 tip
MVC TV took Bradley at Illinois State for a 1:00 tip

Belmont at Missouri State and SIU at UIC will tip at 1:00 on ESPN+. Evansville at Valpo will tip at 3:00 on ESPN+.

Three remaining dates are still awaiting TV assignments and we're very likely to get some sort of linear coverage for those games. Home against Bradley and Drake and the road game at SIU.

                              • Didn't Drake already play Indiana State at home? I'm assuming that was supposed to be flipped
