  • We open Nov 7th at North Texas. I assume H-H but haven't gotten confirmation on that yet.

North Texas was real good last year but lost their coach to Texas Tech.

    Good game for the resume.

    Our home schedule absolutely blows.

    • Valley ESPN schedule is out.

As expected, we should be on TV a bunch. Updated in top post.

CBS Sports Net schedule out tomorrow and Valley TV out on Friday.

We still have one game to fill, right? Assuming a non D1 school between the opener and Florida trip.

Or was the opener the one we needed to fill?

Regardless incredibly hyped, but man that's gonna be a tough freakin start.

Correct. I assume we still see and exhibition game and a non-DI that will fit in that first chunk of the year.

Yes, it would be nice if this is a home/home.

Looks like UNT was picked to finish 6th out of 14 teams in the AAC (two spots ahead of Wichita State ) earlier this week by their conference's coaches and media members. Last made the NCAA Tournament in 2021 where they upset 4-seed Purdue in the opening round. They also won the NIT last season. However, they only return 1 starter and it doesn't look like they have anyone on the AAC pre-season all-conference team.

Never easy to win on the road, but this would be a nice one to win coming out of the gates.

            • CBS schedule is out and we got 3 guaranteed appearances on CBS Sports Net plus a chance for another in a wildcard game.

The exciting thing is that one is a 7:00 Saturday Night tip. Feels like it's been forever since we've had a real Saturday night home game.

It does seem odd to me that the last CBS Sports Net game for the league is Feb 3rd....

              Our Games:

              Jan 17 at Belmont 8:00
              Jan 20 SIU 7:00
              Jan 31 at Bradley TBA

              • I guess the Loyola game a couple of years ago tipped at 5, which actually anymore I prefer.

                • I'm surprised they didn't save a date for the last game of the year as they have in the past. But should be plenty of tv games from espn if we keep winning.

They took two non-conference games (SMU at Murray and Oklahoma State at SIU) which I don't love but I guess that's their choice...

But you're right, we're going to be on National TV a bunch and that's all that matters.

                    Valley-TV package out tomorrow.

                    • I'm also interested if the confrence will get any increases next year with games from espn or cbssn when we start the new tv contract. Do you think there will still be a valley network in the new contract starting next year with all the uncertainty with the future of the RSNs?

I think we may see a slight increase on ESPN since they've lost the Big Ten and they're losing approximately half of their Big 12 inventory and with the league doing all the production themselves, it's cheap filler for ESPN. I would expect the CBS Sports deal to look exactly the same as it does now as they are trying to get more Big East inventory.

I think Valley TV stays. I think it moves to Marquee in the Chicago market but the Bally channels that we work with are all partially owned by the teams that they carry. The RSN model is dying but the league is going to hang on until the bitter end. Those games are on in more homes than the ESPNU or CBS Sports Net games.

                        • Non-DIs added (Coe 11/1 and Loras 11/14)

                          Schedule is final.

Good teams win on the road and we're a good team.

                          Time to get at it.

                          • North Texas is a decent pickup.

                            • Glad we got the schedule finalized. This schedule will absolutely tell us who our team is very early on and we should be battle tested by the end of the non-con.
