The last post on their game thread with us is... confusing. I can't tell if they're taking a shot at the size we have or if it's just a matter of fact type of statement. Their team only has 4 players 6'8" or above too but I would make the argument that we have more length across the board when you put the rosters side by side.

Didn't realize how good of a season North Texas had last year. Won the NIT, beating teams like Oklahoma State and Wisconsin to do so. Won their exhibition against Sam Houston, who they also beat in the NIT last year. They lost their leading scorer, rebounder, and assist guys from last year - different guy led each category.
Pretty good road test to open up. Exciting to return so many players, but also a little wary because we weren't good last year anyway. Obviously didn't have Heise all season. Hopefully Hutson fits in. Can't wait!

Long time Missouri State assistant Jase Herl is on staff there too so there is some familiarity with what we do.#MACtion

Im Cautiously optimistic for the start of the year. Im hoping for another 19-20 type season with that type with a stong start. I would be happy if we get atleast 3 of the first 5 excluding the Loras game. Im fearful though of a1-4 start where we start out flat like we have the last 3 years.

Their average kenpom during the last 4 years was 59. Those were the first four top 100 finishes in program. Now comes the hard part, maintaining that success after losing their coach to Texas Tech and also 4 of their top 5 guys by possession usage. It doesn't appear that they replaced any of those guys in the portal.
I'm a huge homer but I would bet UNI at -4.5 given all they are replacing.
Noob link attached.

Agreed.
I mean it's obviously a bit hyperbolic, if we lose today and then rattle off 10 straight, we'll be fine. But I doubt that's the way things would go.
Seems there's a little more hype than usual which means starting off with a win going into a long stretch before the huge Florida trip is crucial.

Also, we haven't played a minute of regular season basketball. Lets pump the brakes on at-large talk until we have a few games under our belt. Jake almost always schedules in a way to give us a shot at an at-large bid if we have a good season. Lets just see how it plays out a bit. If we have a slow start to the non-con, we'll have to win in STL, which more often than not is going to be the case for the MVC going forward - likely a one bid league most years. Yes, I want to win tonight, but I'm much more concerned about playing out best basketball of the season in January, February & March.

THEY ARE A WAY FOR US TO GET ANOTHER HOME GAME CHEAPER THAN BUYING A LOW D1 TEAM WHO ACTUALLY WOULD PULL DOWN OUR STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE.
