What on Earth would the 2015 team have do with today? In case you missed It I was making an analogy for comparison of a task. So, we're not getting an at-large to the Dance. Maybe, the NIT, but that's tough too.

The point is, that an at-large bid was always a pipe dream anyways, so what's the use in getting upset over this loss?
"Pipedream" meaning we'd have to have a historically great season, (thus the reference to 2015) in order to receive an at-large bid.
Essentially, stop overreacting. This loss hasn't changed the math at all.

        Exactly.

We went 26-5 with a Top 20 NET win at Colorado in 2020 and we probably weren't getting in had the tournament happened.

We're not playing the same game as we were in 2006 or 2015. Mids don't get bids anymore and they're coming for the league autobids next.

I suspect you're right - but I'm not sure. We got embarrassed in that 2020 ArchMadness game. That would have been fresh in the committee's mind so yeah - they might have dropped us. But a lot of people think we would have been in. We just don't know.

This time that we've been going by NET instead of RPI has also been a down time for the Valley, so we might have been a one-bid league even with the prior system. I think we have to reserve judgment on whether a team like our 2020 team will be left out. (though you still might be right)

          • I used to be all in on "At large" being the goal. But the NCAA has made that impossible. The plus side of that is you can enjoy the games more. (aka not get upset on a road loss to a good team on the first game ha)

Now it is just trying to get ready to win the MVC regular season.

Exactly. Just keep hanging banners and playing fun games in the non-con.
