I mean, there is a reason this was the game that held up our schedule release until the very end... Jake knew this particular game on the road wasn't the best way to start the season -- and likely spent a considerable amount of time trying to find ANYONE who would play us at home this year, and ultimately came up empty. Yet it was a winnable game and we nearly (could have, should have) pulled it off.

He didn't want this one just like he didn't want the Vermont game a couple years ago but when all the big guys buy the low majors for the first couple weeks you don't have access to your Alcorns and Prairie Views until December. It's just another symptom of the broken system. Hell, North Texas ended up taking 3 non-DIs because they couldn't find anybody to play them.

Why don't we give Dordt College a ring?! Faith Baptist Bible College of Ankeny seems ready.Last edited by BrockLesnar; 11-09-2023, 11:37 AM.

WIU would legitimately hurt our program from a numbers standpoint.Originally posted by UNIpanther99 View PostWe should quite literally play Western Illinois to open both the MBB and Football seasons every year. Home and home. I get why they might not want to do it, but seriously... just make it happen.

I guess, but we're always going to play some low majors anyway. Why not WIU, and every other year on the road it counts a little more with easy travel.Originally posted by clenz View Post

Do you mean pissed off fans who vent their frustration on a public forum to support the narrative that we are a pissed off fan base?Originally posted by BrockLesnar View PostBTW, I wish we had more pissed off fans. Maybe, we could have more of a home court/field advantage in basketball and football. I have been to enough wrestling meets though. We should all be more like them!

That 2015 team, a couple months into the season, lost a weeknight road game against Evansville. They lost against a better team than that Evansville team on the first game of the season in overtime. Maybe, just maybe, you are over reacting.Originally posted by BrockLesnar View Post
We have a miniscule chance to be an at-large but the task is beyond our capability. We would have to win almost all if not all the remaining non-conference, win almost every league regular season game, and go two out three in St. Louis. So yeah, out of thirty four we need to be 30-4/29-5. In other words comparable to 2015 I believe we went 31-5 give or take. So, we're not getting it.
