For all of the intra-state hate between the fan bases, and for the dual fans like me who get it from both sides it is nice to see that athletes from the different schools support each other. I remember reading a few years ago that Georges Niang and Naz Long from ISU were in attendance for the 2015-16 game when we beat #1 North Carolina in the McLeod Center.
I swear a year or two ago there were Iowa State guys at a game against I think Evansville. They had some connection to a guy on the Evansville team or staff I think

      Bowen Born (CSU) 108
      Logan Wolf (ISUr) 182
      Nate Heise Iowa State 79
      Cole Henry (Wyoming) 134

      Cael Schmitt 39

      Ben Schwieger 237
      Leon Bond 218
      total 633

transfers out average 128 transfers in average 158
And this is with both Leon and Cael missing time due to injury, otherwise it would be even more lopsided.

Nate would very clearly still be one of the top players on this team even if not by as wide a margin as last year.

Everyone else has been pretty replaceable. Schwieger and Bond have been far and away better than every other player that transferred out. Just hope to continue to hit on those every couple of years.

Duax is significantly worse than he was for us last year, but has equal total numbers because he's playing 10 more minutes per game and volume.
Bowen's playing time has all but disappeared. He's played 15+ minutes twice since 12/8. Still shooting 32%. Going to go down after tonight as he's 1-4 overall and 0-2 from 3 with <2 left in the game and he is no where near playing.
Wolf is statically the same exact player he was here, while shooting worse %. He just plays 22ish mpg vs 14 here and starts every game When I say statistically the same player it's within a couple tenths of a point in almost every single stat
Henry's numbers are all down from what they were on the 9th. He went from starting every game to not starting 3 of the last 5 and playing sub 10 minutes in 2 of them.
Heise? Well, the majority of the online presence of the Cyclone fan base seems to hate the fact he exists as a human and view him the same way Duax was seen by UNI fans last year. Actually, Duax probably had more forgiveness from UNI fans that Heise has from ISU fans.
I don’t remember Duax being hated that much.

I feel bad for these kids. Sucks to end your career that way.

They shot their shot. They missed. At least they'll never have to wonder, What If?

Duax is playing basketball on a campus sitting on a beach in Florida. I mean literally on the beach. I'm guessing he's ok
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

You mean there might be more that factors into these decisions than playing time on a slightly above average team in a bad conference???!?!?!?!?

Side note but both Heise and Born did end up making the tournament, as CSU won the MWC and look to be decent and could pull a classic 12-5 upset easily

looks like Born’s role has diminished, but he still plays 10-15 minutes and has been shooting better of late. Could maybe have a blowup performance.

I don’t follow them too closely but I think one or 2 of ISU guys have been down so Heise has been getting extended run

I hope they both succeed in the tournament. It speaks well about UNI's program if/when they do.

In the Mountain West tournament championship game, Born's three three-pointers sparked Colorado State in the first half as they went on to beat Boise State. He played about 25 minutes in that game.

Agree. He made a bold move and probably had some great experiences living in a different (and for my money...a terrific) part of the country.

You could do a lot worse in life than being a 21 year old college kid playing D1 hoops at FGCU.
