Belmont will go to NIT if they lose most likely. They have the 4th highest rpi. Drake highest. UNI 2nd Illinois State 3rd.

Good question, I don't know. I've always assumed a certain amount of "judgement" went into the final selections.

Not 100% sure on NCAA. WNIT uses 6 components and 2 are net and rpi.

But it doesn't surprise me. The same company that runs the WNIT does a similar postseason tourney for VB and they don't shy away from pairing up conference-mates.
They set up the brackets based on geography to keep travel costs down.

These Panthers and coaching staff have worked hard and have produced a great season. I keep thinking how great it would be for them to be rewarded with a seriously good turn-out. Wife and I go whenever we can---and we are older and live 80 miles away.
