I'm not in the "out to get us" camp, but the broadcast was really craptastic.

Mac McCausland, who is an Iowa guy, always did a decent job of keeping the broadcast even and provided some actual basketball knowledge. It seems to me like the PSN is Rick's shiny new toy he gets to have fun with without putting much effort into it at all.

Rick and Rob are Iowa grads so their Hawkeye obsession is merely annoying. The lack of anything resembling actual interesting basketball commentary is what is inexcusable. Some stats? Something more than "These young Hawkeyes won't stop fighting." I would prefer someone with limited knowledge of the programs but can contribute something from paying attention, viewing in-game trends and glancing at a stat sheet. Here are the two contributions from Rick and Rob and their "insider access" about the game: Cully Payne is an insanely hard worker because he was the first one to practice once to work on his jump shot, Coach Jake wants to defend the 3 point shot tonight.

Rick Coleman has always been this way toward UNI. It's a shame that we have the PSN but can't get more quality.

however until the powers that be put some effort into producing the best product possible, this is what we can expect.

What do the powers that be have to do with an announcer/commentator being more prepared or knowledgable (and perhaps more for the team they are to be representing)?

when a team is getting thoroughly dominated dont most announcers do the exact same thing?

i can think of exactly zero UNI grads that i know that could do a better job than rick and rob.

you people need to get over it. not everyone is out to get UNI.

Why not have a UNI communications major who maybe works for KULT as part of the broadcast, maybe as a second color commentator. I'm sure you could find somebody capable and more up to speed on UNI.

It would be great experience and exposure for somebody. I am serious with this suggestion.
