How long has Rick Coleman been around?? I don't think I'm expecting too much. If you're going to do a job, do it right. Otherwise don't do it.
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

This is up to the people who hired and pay Coleman at this point.

That's the point. How can someone living in the Cedar Valley for so long be so clueless?

Rick has complete access to the team and the games from numerous sources anytime.

Re: Rick Coleman and Rob Brooks

News hit it right on this. Rick is lazy when it comes to broadcast work.

Can anyone tell me if he bothered to get UNI's names right on the broadcast? Because up to this point when he does sports he still doesn't know how to say Ahelegbe. I mean it would take all of five minutes to look in the media guide which is available for free on the website for those of us not in the media. I mean come on. That's hard work folks.
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

Coleman should have his broadcasting privileges revoked by the FCC after that game.

                He was silly bad.

Not even kool-aid drinking Hawk fans could find any solice in the knee-deep crap he was trying to shovel out to mask the arse-kicking the Hawks were taking before the entire state.

Re: Rick Coleman and Rob Brooks

If KWWL really wanted him involved in the broadcast, he could have been the sideline reporter or something. At least then we only have to listen to him during an awkward halftime conversation with Jake and maybe an interview with TC. Somehow I fear Rick could even screw up an interview with a mascot who doesn't speak.

Again, who has ever heard of someone doing color for both football and basketball? Learfield is too respectable of an organization to allow this to happen.

                    Eric Heft??

But at least Heft does a good job, even more impressive as he is battling through a bad back as a result of carrying John Walters the entire time.

yes, rick had every name right.

I was a dual fan cheering for UNI, watching the game with a die-hard UNI fan and a Clone who is an Iowa hater. neither of them thought the announcers were biased. there were certainly instances were they made an effort to find SOME good in iowa's game, but i feel that too many of you are mistaking this for Iowa bias. iowa was simply overmatched and there werent many things to talk about. also, several of you seem to be forgetting that iowa did cut a 20-something lead to 6 in the second half. are the announcers not supposed to recognize that simply because they are the UNI broadcasters?

my arguments in this thread have had virtually nothing to do with KWWL or Iowa, but rather how UNI fans manage to take any possible comment and twist it into some anti-panther conspiracy. it is very unbecoming.

                        H1N1 virus alert.

I'm sure as you watched the game with your clone-fan buddy, you said "Hey, do you think this announcer is biased?"

And he said, "Gosh no, I think Rick's doing a swell job!"

Dude, Coleman was a homer for the Hawks. Don't try to lay this at the feet of Panther fans for being overly sensitive. The guy did a horrible job describing the game for what it was; a one-sided beatdown.

Congrats to the Hawk's for falling behind by 17, then cutting the deficit to 6, and then falling behind by 17 again. You played a great 10 minutes out of a 40 minute ball game.

Thats what I did and turned on Rima and coach Boyle, little bit of a delay, but a lot more pleasant to listen to.

Numerous outside people with little to no affiliation are in agreement that last night there was a huge bias.

But then again, you'd probably say FOX News is not bias either.

20- something lead?? According to the play by play UNI's largest lead in the first half was 17 points, just like the 2nd half. Don't exaggerate.
