Gonna repeat something I said earlier, because I am curious and maybe I just read it wrong. Would be curious if someone could explain it to me. Perhaps I am missing something.

The part I don't understand about his statements is this:

I'm not playing those guys. Because you know what intensity means in this state. If you grow up in this state... you're wearing Hawkeyes (or Cyclone or occasionally UNI or Drake stuff). That's where it all stems from. There's no pro sports here. It's all college...

How is that a rationale NOT to play us and Drake. They shouldn't play us because in-state games garner passion and excitement from the fans in a state full of people who love college sports? You'd rather give them boring blowouts they won't get engaged in? I really don't understand his point there.

I don't think it's a change of mind. His point is that there is no pro sport so everybody is really into their college bb team. I think this is his impression of his past experience in Cedar Falls. He's thinking: ok, these guys are nuts! I'm glad I got a police escort. No way we're coming in here and getting a W unless we are a very very very dominant team.

If you sort all the MBB threads on PN by total replies, you will find the most replied thread is not the one about the interlude. Its not the Doug to Creighton one. Its not even the Kansas thread. It is this. Kind of embarrassing, actually.

And yet you have both just contributed to the problem you are complaining about by posting. And now so have I, curse you.

It's probably not going to die until at least after the game is actually played. And Iowa and ISU dropping the 20+ year H&H series with UNI was a pretty big issue. Bigger than the interlude or Doug to Creighton. Not bigger than Kansas.

So...so tickets were offered to only UNI basketball season ticket holders, correct? the tickets were never offered through UNI to everyone?
