I know Wes was a near 4 star when coming out of high school, but he was raw as hell, and has improved leaps and bounds since Tennessee.

Woodbury is one of the worst 4 star players to ever walk this planet. For a 7'1" player, his stats leave a lot to be desired.

A lot of these guys you're going to have to worry about their eligibility. Also, are they willing to buy into Jake's system? Are they going to want to play defense? Are they willing to sublimate their talents to Jake's offense? Are they just going to stay a year? Personally, I would rather have the 3 star guys and see Jake coach them up. I don't think it's a coincidence that guys like Kwadzo and Deon and Matt and Wes took a couple of years to be consistently good.
        True that!

If you are referring to the Clown way then yes...that is the incorrect way. See last year's exit in the dance before people even sat down on their couches & started paying attention.

Well, the clown way also got Back to back Big 12 tournament championships, a Sweet 16, and 4 consecutive years of NCAA tournament births, going on 5 barring a collapse of biblical proportions.

Upsets happen to every team in the NCAA, regardless of how many transfers are on a team. But thanks for finding a way to bring up ISU in another thread on a UNI message board. I know how much you like that.

Would probably get a whiny email from Jamie Pollard.

This is kind of a slightly off topic post, but what if UNI replaced Washpun next year with a grad transfer in Syani Chambers from Harvard? He's small, but a fantastic PG. He had a season ending injury which caused him to sit out this year (Ivy League doesn't do red shirts so he has to take a year away from the program or something like that). He's a Hopkins HS guy (same as Marvin). But with AA transferring, how cool would it be have an experienced high level transfer PG, and then still have McCloud ease into the role?
Chambers, Lohaus, Morfan, Carlson, Koch and then bring McCloud/Haldemann/Brown/Friedman/McD/Dahl/Conrey off the bench. Chambers would have just one year of eligibility.
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

I would rather save the thirteenth scholarship for 17-18 season or pick up a high school player. We can use another 2/3 guard. However, the Harvard guy sounds like a good one.

I would think a one and done PG for next year could be good, if he fits in with Jake's system.

Otherwise, let's see if we can find someone who can fill in the gap year we've created in scholarships by redshirting the entire freshman class this year.
Number of times on Sports Illustrated cover:
Ben Jacobson coached teams = 2
UNI teams coached by everyone ban thinks is better = 0

I'm afraid some of you could be right with respect to the level of support, it isn't good. The old adage (well as old as that movie) if you build it they will come, comes to mind. My thinking in starting this thread was Jake has built the program, why haven't the recruits come? But it is also true he has built the program why haven't the fans come? I fear there are factors beyond anyones control that will keep UNI from ever having he fan base it deserves. It has increased tremendously over the past two decades, but we don't have another two decades to have it build at that slow pace.

That would be ideal. Is he looking to transfer? Did we recruit him out of HS?

The recruiting has increased, pretty drastically under coach Jake.

Yep. There are guys from some of the tournament teams from McDermott's era that likely would be end of bench guys on these iterations of UNI teams.

Look at the guards on the roster in Jake's first two years. I don't even think we recruit and of offer any of them at this point.

                              Brooks McKowen
                              Jared Josten
                              Adam Viet

Correct, IMO. There are a few guys who would be significant contributors or play important roles. Gruber, Stout, Crawford, and Benny J come to mind. But, it's doubtful any of them would be "the man" like a few of them were on those teams. The overall talent level of the roster is superior now. R&B is right though, in that it needs to continue trending upward.
