2023-24 Basketball Schedule

I was looking back at last year and by this time of the year we knew a pretty good chunk of the schedule. Hopefully we hear about some additional games in the near future. I would think we’re looking at almost exclusively home games from here out to fill the non conference schedule. Anyone know how many more games we should be scheduling? A non-D1 and 3 more D-1 games?

Side note - has anyone heard anything about us getting a game at Virginia since we missed out this past year? I wouldn’t necessarily want it on this year’s schedule, but adding it next year would be nice.

You're right, has to be home games. I'd imagine a non-DI, two buys and then they'll try for a H-H that starts here.

There's also some conflicting info on where the Northern Illinois game is. Was reported that this year's game was supposed to be there but Rocco Miller referenced it being in Cedar Falls a few months ago.



Virginia paid us so I don't think rescheduling will happen unless they want to buy us again.

So question in that, had we already gotten paid for that game and had to turn around and reimburse them for it? Just curious how contracts like that work.

Nope. They honored the contract even though the game wasn't played. We got the full guarantee and nobody owes anybody anything.

I'm guessing they could have gotten out of it if they'd really wanted to.

We got the B4A, Richmond, and three true road games against mid-major schools, that's already a harder non-con than Iowa will have. I'm all for us having a few "easy wins" on the schedule (which, of course, we should never assume are easy wins, as we've been on both sides of that particular coin)
