Absolutely has to be a full court press on Fish. The pitch has to be come win The Valley and play in the tournament and then transfer back up.

Time to embrace being a feeder.

That is exactly right. The theory with recruiting out of high school needs to be to aim for kids that we previously would have had no shot at, and I think we are seeing some of that. If the P6 are going to poach our roster each year, then that means there are fewer P6 schollys going to the high school kids. We may convince one of them to come here initially. Or at the very least, the relationship has been built for a transfer situation.

Seems like we’ve done some of that recently. Aim high initially and see what happens.

Yep. Look at our offer list (misses) from last recruiting season. All but one went P6:

          Jonathan Mekonnen--Colorado State
          Dayton Forsythe--Oklahoma
          Jackson McAndrew--Creighton
          Colin White--Ohio State
          Isaiah Johnson-Arigu--Miami (FL)
          Matthew Hodge--Villanova

Nate is visiting Ames today. That would be a strange fit to me since he's likely coming off the bench there, though he does still have 2 years of eligibility to use so perhaps that's his plan. Generally speaking I do think he'd fit very well there culturally and systematically.

He would not come off the bench at Iowa State.

Heard from someone with ISU ties that they’re very confident they’ll sign him.

I also heard Omaha Beliew had a NIL deal that was around $100K. Don’t have any way to verify, just rumor.

A large part of ISU fans are the worst. General consensus is "meh" or he will replace the guy who just left and never played... When he will actually be a great player for them....

the arrogance of some of their fans. ISU needs offense and being able to add that while still having good D is a no brainer... (facepalm)

They're playing guys from Buffalo, Charlotte and Denver but somehow a guy from UNI is below them.

                      That board is absolute delusion-land.

I wonder what the next step is for Biliew. I don't believe he was injured last year. I can't imagine he goes to a blue blood like he had offers to out of high school, but I also don't see him ending up at a MM. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at WV with Tucker - although I have no clue what WV's roster looks like.
To avoid confusion - my username is baseball (Cy Young award) related, NOT for the Cyclones.

You're crazy if you think he's starting over Lipsey, Gilbert, or Moncilovic. I don't think he's even the first guy off the bench if Curtis Jones does in fact come back. At least for the first year, he's just a rotation piece.

The WV thing wouldn’t surprise me. Both Tucker and Darian would be really familiar with him from high school. They supposedly have major NIL money too.

There were internet rumors he was signing with Iowa. It would reunite him with Sandfort, and Fran is supposedly pretty player friendly behind the scenes.

I actually think Iowa could make a good amount of sense if he wants to stay in state. He wouldn't be expected to play a strict defense. He looked completely lost trying to follow ISU's plan on defense. Iowa would allow him to be a little more free offensively as well.

                              • Joe Hurlburt entered the portal from Colorado. He's a 6'11" redshirt freshman. He is originally from North Dakota, and I am pretty sure we had some interest early on with him. He played in a handful of games this year. My guess is that we are focusing on guard and wing though.
